Hospital bombed by Death to Terrorists rendered useless
As the Keymonese Civil War drags on, we have focused our coverage on one particular aspect of it: The senseless violence carried out by the organization known as Death to Terrorists. Their terror has primarily been limited to Costa Golden, but this week, they struck far afield, in demonstration of their reach and animosity toward all players in the conflict. Their target: A Veterans' Hospital in New Valois, where they succeeded in rendering the structure utterly unstable, and killed 14 convalescing Keymonese soldiers.
Death to Terrorists Leader Giovanni Francalucci once more claimed responsibility for the destruction and carnage: "As those cowards in Keymon have discovered, we now have the reach to touch all corners of Keymon. As long as they prosecute this war against the people of the Kingdom, there will be no peace. All are targets, and none shall be spared. We are conducting our business here and have grown tired of the peace you take for granted. Our demands are simple: Leave honest businessmen and women to their work and stop your horrible wars which disrupt the lives of the masses. As long as you persist in the war, we must do what we do and will not discriminate. You have had your warning."
The message came on the heels of the bomb blasts, which are believed to have been detonated in the hospital's kitchen directly before the evening meal service was set to begin. Among those killed were four cooks. Investigators believe that the terrorists snuck into the hospital and packed a walk in refrigerator full of high explosives. It is possible that the bombs were on a timer, but it also just as likely that engaging the door latch set off the explosives. At any rate, the remains of the walkin were discovered a block and a half from the hospital, its flight path being clear by following the trail of destruction left in its wake.
Also discovered outside the hospital was one of the terrorists who apparently died not due to the explosion, but from a gunshot to the back. He was found with a note tied around his neck with the words that translated "This is what happens to traitors." It is believed that the dead man was Gugglielmo diGioia, who was known as fourth in command of the Death to Terrorists Organization. What diGioia had done to earn this fate is unknown at the time, nor has Francalucci, nor anyone else from the organization mentioned the death in any of their regular communiques.
