Another law which was "stuck"

Name of the Law/Policy: Government policy concerning the ability to change the legal definition of one's gender

Law/Policy Category: Civil rights

1) There is no law regarding the changing of a person's legal gender identity.
2) Individuals are allowed to change their legal gender identity.
3) Individuals are allowed to change their legal gender identity, but if they are married, their married partner must consent.
4) Individuals are not allowed to change their legal identity.
5) Sub-national governments decide whether individuals can change their legal gender identity.

This sounds like a very US-centric policy. I don't think this kind of legal situation exists elsewhere in the world. This area is arguably covered by laws allowing local governments to have some say on immigration.

In fact I think this can happen in any country that gives some power to local entities, so the government is not centralised. Cities in Spain for example, can also do this going against the national government if they want to.
