Law: Government policy on church attendance
Category: Religion

Options:
1. The state does not interfere in the matter of church attendance.
2. The state encourages persons to attend regularly a church of any religion.
3. The state encourages persons to attend regularly the church of the national religion.
4. The state requires persons to attend regularly a church of any religion.
5. The state requires persons to attend regularly the church of the national religion.
6. Church attendance is forbidden.
7. This matter is left for the local governments to decide.

Effects:
1. Decrease in fanaticism.
2. Slight increase in fanaticism.
3. Slight increase in fanaticism.
4. Increase in fanaticism. Decrease in civil rights.
5. Increase in fanaticism. Decrease in civil rights.
6. Increase in secularism. Decrease in civil rights.
7. Increase in devolution.

Other comments: I don't now the general, all-culture embracing, term for "church"; so if you do, feel free to amend my proposal. Also, I think the Effects section needs work.

Other than adding effect on government responsibility as well, I think is a very nice idea that should be implemented.

I'd cancel nr 6 though (and rename the whole thing "Church Attendance (if religion is not banned)".

And I'd replace it with

The state only allows church attendance for recognized religions.

This might be a bit of a stretch and it would make a lot of options but I think it would be worth it to add:

-The state encourages persons to attend regularly the church of the national religion and only allows church attendance for recognized religions.

-The state encourages persons to attend regularly a church of any religion and only allows church attendance for recognized religions.

and replace "The state requires persons to attend regularly a church of any religion."

with "The state requires persons to attend regularly a church of any recognized religion."

Xanathos has made some very good suggestions, and they're worth incorporating; however, I don't want to spend time on this right now. Either someone else do it, or subject yourselves to my caprice.
