Law: Government Policy on Animal Welfare in Livestock Farming
Catagory: Ecology

Options:
1. The government has no policy concerning animal welfare. (Default)
2. The government enforces moderate animal welfare standards.
3. The government enforces high animal welfare standards.
4. The government requires animals to be held in the cheapest way possible, without any regard for the well-being of the animals.
5. Animal welfare laws are set by local governments.

Effects:
1. Decrease in environmentalism and government responsibilities.
2. Increase in environmentalism and government responsibilities.
3. Significant increase in environmentalism and government responsibilities.
4. Significant decrease in environmentalism. Significant increase in government responsibilities.
5. Increase in devolution.

It's regulations for the well-being of animals, such as regulations of cage sizes or how much they are allowed to be outdoors, and if they are allowed to engage in their natural behaviors. And so on.

I like it, but we should add something like "The government requires all animals to be held in the cheapest way possible, without any regard for the animals' well-being" or something. It's always nice to have a really bad option.

But maybe then we should specify the law as concerning animals used in livestock farming, not pets?
