Law: Government Policy Concerning the Charging of Interest on Loans

Category: Economy

Options:
1. The government has no policy on the charging of interest on loans.
2. Charging interest on loans is legal but regulated.
3. Charging interest on loans is illegal.
4. Local governments decide on this.

Effects:
1. -Regulation.
2. +Regulation.
3. ++Regulation.
4. +Devolution.

Excellent! Perhaps there should be a variable stating that only certain kinds of persons can condemn themselves to usury.

I like this, but I think the law should be called "Charging of Interest" outright - usury is usually already the crime of going against this law.
Eines Tages traf Karl der Große eine alte Frau.

"Guten Tag, Karl der Große", sagte die alte Frau.
Solche und ähnliche Geschichten erzählt man sich über die Leutseligkeit Karls des Großen.

Thought I would post it here rather than create an entirely new thread, is it worth adding a variable about who controls the base/bank/discount rate? The only issue is that this could create a conflict with the banking system variable- for example if that policy didn't allow for the existence of a central bank but the interest rate policy was that the central bank controlled it.
