Suggestions for new proposal variables are welcome here.

Payroll Contributions (Not really sure what to call it)

Postby cm9777 » Wed Jul 26, 2017 11:03 am

Some sort of law requiring businesses to cover certain costs for their employees such as health insurance, social security etc.

1: All Businesses must cover basic payroll contributions for its employees
2. Businesses with more than 50 employees must cover basic payroll contributions for its employees
3. Businesses with more than 200 employees must cover basic payroll contributions for its employees
4. Businesses are not required to cover payroll contributions.
5: Payroll Contributions are a matter for local governments (Not sure that sounds right?)

I think this needs a lot of rewording. I based this upon the employer mandate that Obamacare has in the US where businesses with more than 50 employees have to pay health insurance. I think having this represented in game is a good idea though.

1: Heavy Big Government, Regulation Leaning
2: Slight Big Government, Regulation Lean
3: Extremely Slight Big Government, Regulation Lean
4: Small Government, Laissez Faire Lean
5: Federalist Lean

I like it... however some of the wording could do with some refinement. Unfortunately I have to head to work right now but I'll get back to you once I'm finished.

Yeah this is difficult because we tax income already, this would be akin to what? Paychecks in the US?

I guess this would fall under paychecks.

I'm also thinking of a corporatist option.

6)Payroll Contributions are not mandatory but Companies are given tax incentives should they provide it. (small Big Government Lean, Regulator lean)

I'm not happy with the current wording of the law as it is and would like some suggestions to amend it.
