School of Scholars Promises Reforms, Pushes for Subnational Autonomy
The Shijia, or School of Scholars, has, yet again, been elected to a majority in the House of the Way of Humane Authority. Off and on throughout the electoral history of the Great Jing Empire, the School of Scholars have been placed into power by the people. Traditionalism is their mainstay, in addition to Wuism, the popular philosophy founded in Deguo. As they are back in power, they plan to reimplement Wuist reforms, paying close attention to public morality. The people will no doubt praise these reforms, as they come from the most enlightened of the Jing people, those of Deian ancestry.
In addition to their societal reforms, the School of Scholars plans to institute a push for greater autonomy. They recognize that each of the regions have their own unique traditions that may not necessary coincide with those of Deguo, the majority nation in the Empire. So long as Wuism can serve to unite the people as one, then the scholar-officials will consent to greater autonomy.
