Gemun- Political and Economic instability combined with the threat across the border has created the impetus for the Khan's renewed approach to resolving said internal issues. Before members of the Supreme Committee, Khan An Cong announced his intentions to improve the economic and militaristic standing of the Khanate in response to both domestic issues and external issues. According to the Khan, the nation's deep dependence on agricultural activities cripple the economy in the event that said agricultural activities were to be halted due to either natural disaster or an unnatural occurrence. He instead insisted that the Supreme Committee, with his guidance shift the nation's economic activities from agricultural to industrial business. The Khan stated that with the development of factories and workhouses, the Bianjie economy and its respective people will see an increase in activity and general growth.

Chairman of the Supreme Committee, Tan Yazhu was not short of supporting the Khan's request for a government push for the industrialisation of the nation. Posterior to the Khan's general address in economics, Chairman Yazhu addressed the Supreme Committee, calling on the opposing parties to support the Khan's request.
It is understood that we must never ignore nor question the requests of the Khan nor must we never question his dominance. It is understood that within the constitution, the Khan does not have to request our permission to implement national and local reforms, but due to his kindness of heart he has allowed us establish the democratic proceedings we exercise today. I call upon the opposing parties to support the Khan's request, not because you are obligated to, but because it will bring positive change to the nation.

Apart from economic reforms, the Khan has proposed stringent militaristic leaning reforms with the aims of reviving the prowess of the armed forces. The proposal outlined the renaming of the armed forces from the Royal Bianjian Armed Forces to the Royal Bianjian Armed Protection Service signalling a change from an offensive posture to a defensive military posture. The Khan stated that he wanted to model the Bianjian armed forces around the Kazulian Kongeforsvar (Royal Defence Force).

Apart from this the Khan announced his intentions to increase security within occupied territory of Dogodama amid threats from the Utemban King to retake the territory and enslave the Bianji population. The territory of Dogodama was taken from Utembo during the initial conflict between Utembo and Bianjie. Under the Khan's decree, a military administration was established and was placed under the direct control of Brigadier-General Cheng Jie and the 1st Dogodama Brigade (consisting of 5,000 soldiers). General Cheng Jie stated that he intends on defending the sovereignty of Bianjie in Dogodama. Currently, life in the occupied territory has been hard as it is being reported by the Human Rights Foundation that citizens of Bianjie are beginning to displace Dogodama's local population in a resettlement scheme, however, Chairman Yazhu denounced these claims as being Utemban propaganda.

With Kitemban forces advancing towards the border after pushing Bianjin government forces back towards the original Bianjin border after liberating the province of Dogodama, the Royal Bianjin Armed Protection Services intends on turning the tide of the conflict once Utemban forces cross over into Bianjie. Currently Utemban forces are massing on the southern Bianjin-Utemban border after advancing forces into occupied territory of Dogodama, bringing it back underneath the Dossier of the Kingdom of Utembo. In commemoration for the soldiers who died and were captured in the Battle for Dogodama, the Khan announced a day of mourning for the 1st Dogodama Brigade and will honour its commanding officer Brigadier-General Cheng Jie, who was reportedly killed by mercenary forces. It was reported by military intelligence that those who survived the conflict in Dogodama and were captured were enslaved and sold to external bidders, presumably in Eliomax or Vorona.

In response to the advancing tide, the Khan has ordered the military elite to form a plan to counter this advancing threat to the survival of the Khanate. Supreme Command outlined a plan coined Operation Urban Rat. Although much is not known about the issue, according to unofficial sources the operation intends on delivering a decisive blow to the invasion force by forcing them into the urban area where they could use guerrilla tactics against guerrilla tactics. The Protection Services have evacuated civilians from the urban regions, and have called up the National Police Service, the reserves to assist in defending their homeland. Currently the numbers of the Protection Service (including police) are around 45,000 however due to the reserve call up, these numbers have swollen to around 70,000. It appears that Bianjie now awaits for the enemy at the gate to march in, for the implementation of their plan to begin.

Khan's Daughter To Wed Jelbek Prince
April 4345

Princess Yehenara Dorgon of Bianjie

The Royal Board of Information has announced that the "Great Dorgon" Abatai Khan's 17th daughter Princess Yehenara, 21 is set to marry Jelbek Prince Ha'nsrmko Manil Suadjakai,37 the eldest son of Mrjkai II H'an. The Khan recently hosted the Jelbek H'ansrmko on his extended state visit to the Dovanian khanate. The wedding presents benefits for both parties - for the Jelbek royal family, an opportunity to link itself to one of Terra's longest surviving monarchies and for the young dynasty to shine above other clans at home, while for the Bianjin, the marriage provides the heavily isolated nation an opportunity to re-engage in the world even if it's only through a similarly deprived nation like Jelbania. The marriage was supposed to be a double alliance with one of the Khan's sons meant to wed a Jelbek princess. This failed due to the H'an having no daughters to wed, having only four sons.

Bianjin Khan Overthrown
September 4349

In one of the most violent political upheavals in Bianjie, it appears the Great Dorgon and much of his family have been slaughtered in what appears to be an usurpation of the monarchy by a rival branch of the Dorgon clan. Early this morning Prince Dorbo appeared on national television and announced that he had assumed the throne, replacing what he called the "criminal puppet" Abatai. The development followed twelve hours of heavy gunfire and noise emanating from the Summer Palace. The developments follow persistent rumours of the return of the exiled Dorbo from Dankuk and the appearance of hundreds of "mean-looking foreigners" in the Bianjin capital in the past few weeks. Dorbo was exiled from Bianjie twelve years ago when he attempted to get part of the Six Banners (Bianjin army) to mutiny and rise up against Abatai. He is a second cousin of the Abatai Khan.

The events have shocked many including the deposed Khan's daughter, Yehenara the Hatun consort of Jelbania. The Hatun is said to be worried about the fate of her father, his many wives and her hundred plus siblings. Jelbania however has not yet commented on the coup itself but its H'an has only sought assurance on the safety of his in-laws. The new regime has declined to comment on their fate. It remains quite unclear who might have helped organise this coup - the presence of hundreds of foreign mercenaries who have been described as "borth Dovanian looking" has only hyped up speculation. It is well established that the Abatai Khan's regime was traditionally close to former colonial power Indrala and Khan is known to have to followed Tia'an's direction in the realm of foreign affairs. Much remains unclear including the durability of Dorbo's new regime. Many units of the Six Banners are yet to be subjugated or submit to him. There, as with anything involving Bianjin politics, lies the strongest predictor of the final outcome.

"Voice" Challenges New Khan
March 4350

The Dorbo K'han has found his grip on the Salt Throne significantly weakened following the appearance of a series of broadcasts on pirate radio. Just four days following his bloody coup, broadcasts of a voice purporting to be that of the deposed Abatai Khan's 6th son Crown Prince Taksi Dorgon have appeared over the wire. In his broadcasts, the supposed Crown Prince denounces Dorbo as a "criminal" and calls on the commanders of the Six Banners to continue their abstention from swearing allegiance to Dorbo Khan and await his assumption of the throne. The broadcasts have continued over the past several months. At this point Dorbo has command of the Summer Palace and most government buildings in the capital. Some provincial governors have sworn allegiance to him but thew six commanders of the Banners seem to be playing for time. Dorbo only commands a small 600 men army made up almost entirely of foreign mercenaries, many of them Dankukin.

As for foreign recognition, it has been rumoured that Dankuk's preparing to recognise the Dorbo regime as the legitimate government of Bianjie. Sources claim that the Dankukin Empress is preparing to visit Bianjie soon. Many fear that little Bianjie is now a pawn in the dynastic dispute between the Dovanian powers of Dankuk and Indrala. Jelbania, a country with close dynastic ties to the Dorgons of Bianjie, has so far abstained from intervening in the dispute. The deposed Khan's daughter, Hatun Yehenera of Jelbania has however been actively pushing her husband Manil H'an to go in against Dorbo and his supporters and facilitate his removal, diplomatically and if possible, militarily. The H'an who is known for his wariness and distaste for foreign affairs, has so far resisted his wife's entreaties, focusing on domestic matters as usual.

Blow for Dorbo as Several Banners Support Rival
March 4350

Three of the country''s six Banner Commanders have declared in favour of ex-Crown Prince Taksi, the son of the deposed Abatai Khan. The three Commanders issued a joint declaration committing the entire rightwing (eastern half of the country) to Taksin's cause. This is a crushing blow for Dorbon Khan who has so far failed to garner much support for his installation as the new Great Dorgon. None of the commanders of the leftwing have declared for anyone but all three are known to detest Dorbo for his crimes but are also driven by immense self-interest and worry about picking the wrong side.

The Banner system lies at the core of the country's military-dominated administrative structure. There is no separation between civil and military administration and a Commander appointed by the Khan administers a Banner at the command of the Khan. At present, the six commanders have more or less developed into semi-independent warlords thus vastly increasing their personal power and influence in the process. The supposed existence of the still-to-be-seen Crown Prince Taksi has only provided an excuse to continue with this state of affairs. 'Some in Bianjie now just want the commanders to submit to Dorbo in the interests of stability and unity. They view his recognition by Klavia to be a positive omen of his eventual success in securing the Salt Throne. This feeling is limited to a minority and many feel that Dorbo's basically finished and the rest of the the Banners will likely also declare against him soon.

Klavia to deploy 20,000 troops in support of Dorbon Khans government
Leontius Flavia, The Defense Minister of Klavia, has announced how he will move 20,000 soldiers in defense of Dorbon Khan.
To allow the overthrow of Khan and the power vacuum that will occur would be foolish and ignorant. Klavia is protecting its allies and its own interests with the movement of soldiers. This is not an invasion or a war. This is simply a defense of our ally Dorbo Khan. We will also deploy 1,500 AFV,4,000 tanks, and 100 artillery in defense of Dorbo Khan and his loyal subjects.

Dorbo Consolidates Power
January 4351

In another blood soaked victory for Dorbo Khan, four of his rivals have been killed in a bomb explosion at the Commander's Palace in Nurhaci. The four were the three Banner Commanders who had been supporting Dorbo's rival Crown Prince Taksi and the fourth - Prince Andrj of Jelbania who had been sent to help co-ordinate the anti-Dorbo alliance. The bomb appears to have gone off in the Drawing Room where the four men were relaxing. The Crown Prince who was also in the Palace is known to have fled and is believed to be in Jelbania. The Jelbeks sent a letter to Dorbo Khan demanding the arrest and extradition of whoever planted that bomb.

The development, along with the posting of Klavian troops and securing the allegiance of the other three Banner Commanders more or less cements Dorbo's hold on the Khanate. He has managed to send troops into the rebel Banners, taking advantage of their disarray following the deaths of their commanders. A few problems remain for the new Great Dorgon, the most important being the Crown Prince's flight to Jelbania where a very angry Jelbek court remains ready to support him in whatever capacity the country can manage.
