30th General Assembly Session

Postby Aquinas » Mon Apr 01, 2019 5:17 pm

Below are the archived discussions of the 30th General Assembly Session.

Geoffrey Briggs, President of Fortland:

Members of the General Assembly,

I am delighted to inform you that this year my small nation is celebrating a bumper spaghetti harvest. We are expecting to be able to export the finest spaghetti that has even been grown in living memory, and in greater quantities than we have ever previously achieved. International agricultural analysts are unanimous in their verdict that we have knocked Istalia off the top spot and are now the number 1 country for spaghetti. We truly understand the unique qualities of the spaghetti plant and how it can best be nurtured and cultivated.

Demand for our premium quality spaghetti is immense, and prices for it have gone through the roof. However, we are prepared to offer favourable trading terms to nations who are prepared to enter into meaningful, mutually-beneficial, long-term economic, cultural and political relationships with us.

30th General Assembly Session

Postby Aquinas » Tue Apr 09, 2019 12:44 pm

Geoffrey Briggs, President of Fortland:

Members of the General Assembly,

As a liberty-loving, democracy-loving nation, we feel duty-bound to draw the General Assembly's attention to the case of that heinous vampiress, the President of Kirlawa, Flora Forrest who has held power for most of the last thousand years by oppressing and terrifying her own people.

Would the World Congress be willing to sponsor a diplomatic mission, led by myself, to visit President Forrest and convey to her the world's concerns about her regime, and deliver to her an ultimatum that unless she peacefully transitions from power a World Congress military task force will be assembled?

Furthermore, would the World Congress consider passing a resolution setting recommended term limits for the holding of powerful political offices? When leaders hold onto power for a long time, the tendency towards corruption and abuse becomes greater.
