"What you're doing" was supporting and funding foreign rebel groups. The principle of state sovereignty is based on the idea that foreign countries should not intervene in the internal affairs of other countries, regardless of how the motivation for action is framed. Whether you like it or not, this is the principle that dominates international affairs to a certain extent both in real-life and in the game. As Liu Che has already mentioned too, it's enshrined in Security Council resolution now. Now that doesn't mean that you have to abide it but you're obviously going to get international push-back if you openly violate the fundamental principles of the World Congress, that's something you have to make a decision about.
