Moderator: RP Committee
Following the 4249 Security Council elections, the members of the Security Council are: Luthori, Istalia, Rildanor, Hutori and Dorvik.
Esteemed colleagues, I am glad to join you in these vaunted halls for what will surely be a productive and exciting session of the Security Council. Rildanor has received an extraordinary mandate from the nations of Seleya to represent their interests in the face of foreign interventionism and adventuring, and I shall be a staunch ally for those nations. I look forward to working with you all on important issues like defending the sovereignty of nations, exposing abuse and corruption in international regulatory bodies, and bringing a new reign of reason and leadership to the World Congress.
Let's get to work!
"We welcome Cyrille Rodier and Rildanor to the Security Council, we are pleased to have them on the council. We are eager to work with Rildanor for reform of this august body.
We welcome the representatives from Luthori, Rildanor, Hutori and Dorvik. We look forward to the upcoming debates and hope to achieve notable results with this composition.
The SC needs to get its priorities straight. We propose to condemn terrorism all over the world. This will show our resoluteness and wilingness to fight for peace and safety all over Terra.Resolution 28
NOTICING The terrorist attacks on the WC building in Romula, as well as the bombing on the Istalian embassy in Badara, the shooting at the BNC offices in Badara, the murder of humanitarian aid workers and the military action against peacekeeping forces in Badara.
CLARIFYING That the terror attacks mentioned above were conducted in the pursuit of political aims, using violence and intimidation against civilians.
THE WORLD CONGRESS SECURITY COUNCIL
Undertakes to end terrorism all over the world, and therewith:
I. Clarifies acts of the terror as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians,.
II. Condemns acts of terror.
III. Allows WC members to take immediate measures against all nations which are about to or are already fueling acts of terrorism.
Rildanor votes NO on Resolution 28 as proposed by Representative Olivero, for the reason that it has not been given due deliberation in the World Congress as a whole, and for the reason that one can only NOTICE the harms mentioned by the resolution if one recognizes the Istalian intervention in Badara as legitimate, which we all know that it is not. If the Istalians would not have their buildings and embassies bombed, they should cease their imperialistic foreign policy, not attempt to police the world with legislation from this body.
"Echoing our Rildanorian counter-part, we condemn terrorism as a whole but we cannot support an illegitimate invasion of a foreign country in a sovereign matter. The role of the Security Council, of the World Congress as a whole, is to make the world a better place and meddling in domestic affairs is far from what the purpose of the Security Council is for. We cannot agree. Dorvik votes NO on Resolution 28.
With that note, I firmly believe that the Badaran Crisis does have to be solved. I recommend, with the finer details to be smoothed out by my counter-part in Rildanor, that Dorvik and Rildanor take over the World Congress Mission in Badara (WCMIB) and oversee any new introduction of forces and focus on state-building in place of good ole' fashioned Istalian Imperialism."
The only legitime authorization we need is the agreement of the Badaran Government. The foreign policy of Istalia as well as its military forces are not under the oversight or the control of the World Congress or of the Security Council.
Do you don't recognize this legitime? Since when Rildanor demands that the World Congress should authorize the foreign agreement of other nations? Where it has gone the respect of the National Sovereign with which Rildanor filled the questionable mouths of its representatives?
Since that Badaran Government declared countless time its agreement on our humanitarian aid, we don't need of the authorization of anybody else.
I already expressed our position on the matter into the General Assembly, we will not change our mind.
To add, what evidence does Rildanor even have to call the Istalian presence in Badara illegitemate? It looks like they're just trying to scream from the sidelines without real evidence. We hope the Rildanorian delegation could stop trying to push their false anti-Istalian propaganda down our throats and behave in a professional and responsible manner, as suits a delegation in this council.
The Security Council is currently tied 2-2 regarding Resolution 28. If this vote count persists, the Resolution will fail. I will hold the vote open for several more days to allow Ambassador Olivero to rally support.
I would also like to inform esteemed Members of the Security Council that I will be traveling to Istalia to coordinate the evacuation and recovery effort in the aftermath of the recent attack on World Congress offices. There is a chain of command in place for the Secretariat and members of the Secretariat will activate the chain of command if and when the need arises to address any matters of debate here in Security Council chambers or in the General Assembly.
