Re: Resolution 68 (Administrative) - WCSC Offices

Viktor Pataki (no relation to Foreign Minister Levente Pataki), the New Endralonian Ambassador to the World Congress, states as follows:

"From the point of view of New Endralon, we see the current proposal as unsatisfactory due to the large scope of powers of the Human Rights Office that will be established through this Resolution, as it would seem that the Head of the Office will be able to call upon World Congress forces to forcibly enforce their view of human rights on particular nations, and New Endralon requests further clarification on this issue, because such violations of national sovereignty and each nation's own definition of human rights ought to be respected, and no supranational and international organisation should have the power to interfere so deeply in the internal affairs of individual sovereign nations unless it was a severe civil conflict, genocide or military conflict occurring. As the definition of human rights grows ever broader, it seems apparent that the powers of the Human Rights Office established under this Resolution may be too great and far too expansive, and New Endralon does not endorse this Resolution for the potential of abuse of power by the Human Rights Office to violate sovereignty of national governments."

”We welcome the representatives from New Endralon to introduce a new resolution that further clarifies the positions and authorities of the World Congress Human Rights Office. As this Resolution has passed it is binding on all members of the World Congress; we welcome feedback and discussion on the topic however and point you to the General Session of the Security Council to discuss such matters.”

Esteunio Mazoridano, Coburan Ambassador to the World Congress:

Cobura's NO vote is the result of continuous doubts about the urgency of this resolution, since all offices have been working properly and are not in dire need of reorganisation. And we see no need in replacing the names of such iconic institutions with some unknown credentials.

”Those institutions haven’t been functioning. They’ve remained without administrative heads, without budgets and have limited operability. That is a collective failure on the leadership of the World Congress and the Security Council as a whole. This is meant to streamline and rectify those issues.”
