OOC: Security Council Seat E Election

This thread is for the election to Seat E of the Security Council. The seat is open only to non-playable countries (otherwise known as the "Third World"). The discussions and elections are entirely out-of-character and should be conducted as such. Players who wish for their countries to stand in the elections should indicate in this thread by the end of the 24 May at the very latest.

If there is more than one country that wishes to stand, controllers should attempt to discuss among themselves who should be elected in out-of-character terms. Discussion of this kind can happen prior to the deadline for nominating yourself. If no conclusion has been reached by the end of the day on 28 May then we will have a vote. I'll confirm the details of such a vote if and when we reach that point.

Vascania is going to stand. Largest economy and strongest military out of all relevant nations. Largest population in the world, largest area (I think with like one exception). Also extensively RPed and I am fairly active.

New Alduria will stand for now, if I win seat C which is likely then I will drop, but you never know the way an election will swing. New Alduria has a stable government with a growing economy and is an average military power, the World Congress is stuffed with monarchies, it is time to get a Republic in their! Vascania is unstable with terrorist and bombers filling the recent news, we have our issues, but we don't terrorist in the streets.

Hanzen will stand.

Similar to New Alduria, Hanzen doesn't "terrorist in the streets." It is a stable nation with strong economic and security relationships with multiple active countries on the Security Council. Hanzen has already stimulated RP with regard to the World Congress and Security Council, with active participation in debates with Valruzia, Istalia, and Dorvik among others in the General Assembly. Resolution 83 would have been rather uncontroversial without the intervention of Hanzen, for instance. In the Security Council, Hanzen would contribute to RP with regard to development in the so-called "third world" with specific focus on building out the organization sanctioned in Resolution 84. Further, Hanzen would providing a dissenting voice with regard to the Permanent Members (when in the interests of RP, or course).

I have no interest. I support Wu Han for the seat.

Vascania is an economically strong regional power.
New Alduria is an economically average middle power.
Hanzen is an economically weak small power.

I feel like that's a strong illustration of my argument.

My argument is based in these three points and I'll let the chips fall where they may:

(1) Hanzen is the only country out of the three candidates that has participated thus far in the 43rd General Assembly Session, having contributed to an RP event (EDIT: Actually, Vascania did participate to share news regarding internal developments, my apologies);
(2) From what I can tell perusing the latest three forum news pages of either contestant, Hanzen is the only country currently in the running that has any discernible foreign relationships active in the last 200 in-game years;
(3) I suggest that active participation in international affairs should count for something in an election to the Security Council.

Just as a note, I control two "Third World" countries myself but I won't be standing or contributing to the substantive debate for the sake of avoiding any potential conflict of interest. I will try and direct discussions if I feel it is appropriate though.

1) Yes, but New Alduria didn't feel the need to as no problems concerning their well being arose.
2) Wrong, New Alduria just joined 3M, I also could call upon a host of nations if need be.
3) Yes, but I am very active, not exactly active on the forum like you, but the fact that I am crushing Valrzia in the seat C race being a weak nation should say something.
4) Again if I win seat C then I will not stand here.
