Gunhild Anfinson, Kazulian Ambassador to the World Congress
In our modern world we are beginning to unfold and recognise the fact that the past and the future are meeting in common ground. Societal advances have dictated our progress on the basis of our contribution to the betterment of society, because it is our firm belief that without purpose we are without vision for a better future. We cannot and should not settle for the mediocre, nor should be make room for disturbances to our progress. Unfortunately, this is not the case in some nations. For today, are great battle is being waged against the modern and the medieval. Modernity seeks a future whereby the well-being of all persons are safe guarded from the iniquities of evil and destruction. Medievalism seeks a future whereby humanity should be subjected to the most heinous of acts, should have their rights limited and/or removed entirely, should be afraid of the threat of annihilation at the hands of reckless state actors. These forces clash throughout our world but nowhere more starkly as Deltarian Empire. We protect the rights of all our citizens, both at home and abroad. Kazulia is determined to see a world of progress and peace. However, once more this sentiment for progress and peace may not be shared by other states. For they are hellbent on global domination. To said states, said domination MUST come at the expense of the rights of others. The right to be safe from careless destruction and the right to have a better future than what we are presenting them with today. The forces that seek to usurp the established global peace has many forms. From the authoritarian regime in Deltaria with its Imperial Armed Forces to the various terrorist organisations throughout the world. Despite their difference, they are rooted from the same bitter soil of intolerance. That intolerance is directed first at their fellow people and then at their neighbours and then the wider community.
At stake is not only the future of peace in the world, but the survival of our modern states. Nothing is a more dangerous threat than the arming of reckless states such as the Deltarian Empire with nuclear weapons. This nation's procurement of nuclear weapons poses a direct threat to the established global peace. Deltaria has made its genocidal intentions clear in its support for the Dankukin Regime, the same regime which has countlessly threatened to annihilate the Kingdom of Kazulia. Their touting in the Northern Hemisphere mixed with their potential possession of nuclear weapons creates an extremely dangerous atmosphere whereby military miscalculations become more likely. The Kingdom of Kazulia, in recognising the threat made by the Deltarian Empire and its attempts to disrupt the peace as established by the Treaty of Rodshyadam due to its very presence in the Dovanian region, will not hesitate to act on threats posed against us and our survival. The procurement of nuclear weapons is an extremely dangerous sentiment to global peace, hence the reason Kazulia does not possess, produce nor store such weapons of mass destruction. I call on the wider Security Council to condemn this bold and open threat to the global peace in its entirety.
