Following the 4778 Security Council elections, the World Congress welcomes governments, political parties and other organisations to the 45th General Assembly Session.
I present myself as the delegate of the Communes in this new session. May peace prevail on Terran.
We present ourselves as the delegates from Lodamun to the World Congress, we hope only good will come out of this.
Ladies and gentlemen of this fine body, let me be the first to raise a major concern to this body. The Malivian government has, in a blatant violation of Keymon’s sovereignty, pumped raw sewage into the ocean, during high tide, which they knew would cause said sewage to come into Keymon’s Exclusive Economic Zone and land on it’s beaches. This is a direct attack on Keymon’s economic and social well being. Now the government which I represent has to spend millions of Keymon’s taxpayers dollars to clean up this sewage from our beaches. Not just that, but also of note is the fact that this dumping of sewage has harmed our wildlife and our agriculture. The number of fish being found dead by our fisherman has gone up by nearly 250%.
This is not only an attack on Keymon’s sovereignty and it’s economy, but also on the nations food supply. As such, we are requesting that the World Congress demand that the Malivian government pay 25 million KED in compensation to the government of Keymon for this attack on our tourism and agricultural sectors.
Ms. General Secretary, Mr. Boros Norbert, my uncle and Chief Executive Officer appointed me to represent the Endralonian world leading healthcare company More Medicament Manufacture in the General Assembly of the World Congress.
Your servant has been reappointed by our President to represent Jumhuriat al-Badara in this deliberative body.
Honorable Members of the General Assembly,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It's my honor to take part in the discussions of the 45th General Assembly of Terra. Unfortunately my first time addressing this Chamber comes at a difficult time for my country. One non-permanent member of the Security council, the Jakanian Republic, has taken the initiative to impose sanctions on our nation due to policies we implemented some months ago. Soon, more counties followed, with some of them betraying our historical alliance. I'm not going to argue with any representative about past actions. I'm here to explain why in Kalopia we believe that these measures against us are unjust and politically motivated.
First of all, the new administration of our country was democratically elected with more than 65% of the popular vote. Kalopia is a functioning democracy and has not become a regime as many representatives would argue. Administrations may come and go, in Kalopia though we respect all human rights of every man and woman living in our country. The bill named "National Reforms" is nothing more than socially conservative reforms that our electorate does desperately support. We reject racism and constantly fight for the rights of all national groups of our great country. We think that all the people of our country can coexist peacefully and work together to improve their lives. But we have to be clear: this government prioritizes the interests of the Kalopians, the main ethnic group that happens to be the majority. Minorities cannot have special rights, that degrade the life of the Kalopian working class.
We also want to make clear that we aren't going to accept any more illegal aliens and immigration will be limited under the new laws. Though everyone who comes legally to Kalopia will be accepted to our peaceful society.
We won't accept inference to our law-making process . Our independence will not be questioned. We want to strengthen our relations with our neighbors, as equal partners, but we will be prepared for all eventualities with our army ready to defend our soil if we ever get threatened.
Finally, I would like to thank all the honorable members and to guarantee that our administration respects the democratic institutions as well as the rule of law and we are looking forward to resolving the crisis.
The Kalopian delegation is talking pure nonsense. The facts of the matter are that Kalopia is being governed by a far-right regime that has instituted state-approved segregation. Majatra has dealt with the consequences of reactionary ethno-nationalism in the past and that is why we feel it is essential to take firm action against any regime that seeks to institute policies of this kind.
The Jakanian government can only reiterate our previous condemnation and remind the international community that we are doing everything in our power to ensure that the minority populations currently being forced out of our neighbour will be treated with dignity and respect if they seek refuge in our country. We encourage other countries to take similar measures.
I hereby condemn the new far-right, fascistic like government. I, with my delegates gathered around, representative of the new socialist government of Lodamun proclaim support for sanctions and embargo on the new government from Kalopia, as well political asylum for all affected people from Kalopia. Lodamun shall stand firmyl against bourgeoisie and nationalist oppression of the common people.
Comrade representatives, it is my honor to serve as my people's representative to this body. On behalf of my nation, I'd like to apologize for our inaction in this body for the previous years, as the strife our people have faced recently has compelled us to pull our own community together and focus on ourselves. But now we feel that our people have become strong enough, and our state stable enough to count ourselves among this assembly of equals. As my own people strive to achieve Harambee in our own borders, an ancient concept held by the Kitembo people of Liore that held that communities must come together as a family for their collective benefit, we wish to achieve Harambee beyond our borders with our comrade states of Terra.
To comment on the two issues which currently find themselves before us, the Socialist State of Liore wholeheartedly denounces the actions taken by the Malivian government in releasing their sewage into the sea at the time in which it would be carried away to the blood-soaked shores of Keymon. The Keymonite people have spent the opening years of this decade in a bloody civil war and continue to struggle to recover, and you seek to further worsen the condition of these weary islands? We denounce this aggressive form of diplomacy, and plead that that the leaders of Malivia and Keymon discuss their issues rather than slug it out in a war of excrement.
On the issue of Kalopia, we have different concerns than the honorable representative of Jakania. Though it concerns us that the Kalopian government would allow private institution the choice to apply segregation policies, it is hardly a concern in comparison to other articles within the passed National Reforms bill. Instead, we'd like to point out that Kalopia has lifted restrictions on the proliferation and use of chemical and biological weapons, as well as their lifting of legal sanctions on the mistreatment of prisoners of war. Though I hope for the sake of the people of Kalopia and the people of Majatra that a war never develops in the region and that these concerns remain concerns of paper rather than blood, we cannot go without denouncing this policy. As with the issue of Malivia and Keymon, we suggest that instead of making rash decisions we instead open up discussion with the Kalopian government. We'd also suggest not applying blanket economic sanctions against Kalopia, which would in the end result only in the misery of the common citizen of their nation. Instead, we suggest that the nations of Terra cease the export of weapons and the materials required in the proliferation of weapons, especially chemical and biological arms, to Kalopia to ensure that serious military buildup cannot take place. We also applaud the initiatives of Jakania, Kafuristan, and Lodamun in accepting refugees from Kalopia, and urge Kalopia's other neighbors in doing the same.
Dear Members of This Assembly,
I am here today to condemn the Jakanian representative and the Jakanian Government. They are in the Security Coucil trying to end Humanitarian and Peacekeeping missions from the World Congress. This is purely a politically driven decision and an attempt to further their dangerous "do nothing attitude". It is time the nations of Terra stand up to the bully that is Jakania. I would like to put forward the following".
The World Congress,
Understanding Jakania's attempt to strip this bodies Power in resolving war and conflict through peaceful means such as humanitarian aid and intervention if needed
Acknowledging that this body was made to fight against war and to keep the peace not to sit around and watch from the sidelines
Realizing that Jakania's actions are not only depriving this assembly from doing what it was meant to do but setting a dangerous precedent.
Rejecting and condemning Jakania's attempt to control this assembly,
Resolves to Rebuke and Condemn Jakania's Actions as Dangerous to The World Congress and all of Terra, The general assembly hereby stands against Jakania's Proposal
