Following the 4899 Security Council elections, the World Congress welcomes members to the 53rd Security Council Session.

The elected members of the Security Council at the commencement of this term are Endralon, Selucia, Lodamun, Dankuk and Liore. Elected members have eighteen months to present a representative to the Security Council or they will forfeit their position for the duration of the term and the runner-up in their seat will replace them.

Members are encouraged to move quickly to elect an individual as the President of the Security Council, I shall chair discussions in the meantime.

I will represent Lodamun this session and hope to accomplish good work with fellow Security Council members for the betterment of all people.

Following the failure of Dankuk to present a Representative to Security Council, the nation of Davostan has been invited to present a representative. This will be given 72 Hours prior to us moving to the next nation on the list.

In the meantime, I encourage again the current membership to elect a President of the Security Council to Chair these meetings.

First and foremost, we support the proposal of the Honorable Person from Lodamun.

Second, we would like to introduce an administrative Resolution-proposal.

World Congress Security Council Resolution XXX - Luthorian as formal language of the World Congress

The Security Council

ACKNOWLEDGING, that the Luthorian language and its dialects are forming the most widely spoken language on Terra;

RECOGNIZING, that a transparent and clear administration is necessary for the proper working of the World Congress;

BELIEVING, that the Luthorian language is capable of connecting people from all countries and able to offer transparency for the World Congress;

DECIDES, that all official World Congress documents shall be written in Luthorian language.

There is no point to the proposed resolution, and it seems to me that this resolution is an attempt give the Security Council busy work to make faux "progress" rather than address actual issues of the world. Not only is this resolution pointless, but in my opinion it is quite regressive. If passed, this resolution would suggest that Luthorian is the official language of Terra and would place it in an artificial position of superiority over the languages of hundreds of millions of other humans. Rather than be a body of equal nations with equal cultures and backgrounds, this resolutions seeks to put one above the many. I will vote against this resolution, I urge my comrade representatives to do the same, and I urge the Endralonian representative to help us in addressing the issues that face Terra and world diplomacy rather than proposing such resolutions.
