Following the 57th Security Council elections, the World Congress welcomes governments, political parties and other organizations to the 57th General Assembly Session.
Before the last session of the Security Council and World Congress became distracted and ceased to function, one of the subjects of consideration was updating the nuclear proliferation arrangements in effect. What this abandoned discussion looked like it might add in a positive way was looking at nuclear warheads that were degrading as well as safety and environmental hazards more generally.
We would ask that the World Congress consider taking up this issue again and focus not on just limiting who can produce nuclear weaponry but also on taking steps to have the nuclear weapons in existence be the only ones we ever have in existence as well as taking steps to handle the inherent safety and environmental problems that occur while they exist.
