The Bureau of Education and the Environment has been had at work to ensure that students within Eljang and Reunii's education system have a curriculum that prepares them for the modern world of work. Education and Environment Secretary, Sagong Songhyon has stated that given the government's continued thrust toward expanding Eljang and Reunii's economy, the education system is being tailored to turn out a workforce with the requisites skills for a modern economy. "When we encourage and expose our students to the sentiments of agriculture, tourism, robotics, supply chain management, these are keeping with the requirements of the modern century economy,. At the tertiary level to precise, skills training is important. The National Youth Training and Employment Partnership (NYTEP) is going into communities and are actively training persons in various skill areas." Sagong Songhyon stated that whilst the Education and Environment Bureau's budget was not large in the previous years as compared to domestic security, he stated that the 3 trillion won (30 billion) allocated for the previous fiscal year had been spent wisely with "no a single penny wasted". He spoke about the emphasis placed on curriculum modernisation in the coming years. "We made every effort to align the curriculum offering with our learners. We want to ensure that our students, from early childhood to tertiary level, that they are equipped with the necessary skills that will allow them to function properly and with competency in the modern economy."

He stated that valuable resources have been spent on teacher training. "I am speaking at all level including vice principal, principles, deans and heads of departments. It is critical. In our education system, we must have good governance. If we are to achieve that we must ensure that our teachers and administrators are properly trained. We spent a lot of money where that is concerned." Songhyon added that the Bureau also spent a considerable amount of money on infrastructure given the fact that many of Eljang and Reunii's schools are in need of an overhaul in terms of how they are constructed. "We have said it repeatedly, that most of our schools are aged. This means that they are in existence for more than 100 years. We have always had a challenge in ensuring that the schools are in a position so that our students and teachers can carry out their activities. We spent a lot of money on maintaining some schools with the rest being spent on constructing new schools underneath the new school construction model. We have in excess of around 5,000 schools to look after early childhood, primary and secondary education. So if one school goes down for a while, because there is a problem with infrastructure I do no think it is a bad mark on the Ministry as we have tried to ensure that all our schools are up to standard. It is a tremendous exercise and our technical department is ensuring all our schools are up to standard."

When asked about how much money he wanted allocated to the Bureau of Education and the Environment, the Secretary stated that such a decision was in the hands of Secretary of Finance and Economics, Victor Oddvarson. "Such a decision is completely up to the Bureau of Finance and the Economy, as such it would not be correct for me to comment on what i would like to see be given to the Bureau of Education and the Environment at this moment. We go through an rigourous process where we have discussions and we put forward our requests and it is up the Bureau of Finance and Economics. The Secretary has many Bureaus and subordinate bodies to look after so i'd rather not be bold. Once we are given the opportunity to continue operating at the pace at which we are currently moving." The previous fiscal budget statement, the Finance and Economics Secretary stated that the civil administration was dedicated towards investing into the Eljang and Reunii's students to ensure that all students regardless of age, aliment, religion and/or sexual orientation, had equal opportunities. Whilst Eljang and Reunii's education system is no extremely organised and rigorous education system as seen in other nations, Secretary Songhyon states that soon Eljang and Reunii can boast of an international acclaimed education system capable of pushing out extremely skilled individuals into the modern economy.

The citizens of Eljang and Reunii are voting today in a general election Chief Secretary Harry Brundtland called early under the
premise that Eljang and Reunii had to demonstrate how far the state had come in terms of its domestic development through its
first free and democratic election since the implementation of the civil administration. Having stepped down from the position of
Chief Secretary, Brundtland terminated his tenure as Chief Secretary and his cabinet, hence ending the special appointment period
introduced by outgoing Governor Anund Ingebretsen. Having made its extremely clear that he has no intention of running in the
upcoming election, Brundtland stated that it serves as an opportunity for Eljang and Reunii to illustrate to the wider
international community that there is potential for success in a post war environment. The political landscape of Eljang and
Reunii has diversified from the single party politics of the specially appointed Secretariat of Brundtland to the two party
politics of the Patriotic Front and the Labour Party. With the threat of terrorism from the Southern Liberation Army still
hanging over the people of Eljang and Reunii, the security of the Republic has been thrust into debate.

Becoming an extremely complicated situation for the Brundtland Secretariat, immigration is evolving into a major concern for both
the government and citizens alike. The potential for an increase in violence against the republic from persons immigrating from
Greater Dankuk, as evident of the Southern Liberation Army, combined with the continued bellows of the population for the
government to maintain and improve the nation's relationship with Greater Dankuk have created the impetus for the national debate
on immigration as the two parties must balance between the security of the Republic and its obligation to maintain peace and
prosperity within its relationship with Greater Dankuk as per the articles and provisions of the Treaty of Rodshyadam.

Eljang and Reunii's energy security came intro question amidst the Dankukin Government's decision to terminate the oil supply
relationship with Eljang and Reunii amidst the introduction of the second round of economic sanctions against the Second Kyo
Empire, targeting the nation's oil and natural gas sector. Although the Brundtland Secretariat acted swiftly to address the
situation, its measures were only temporary according to Brundtland himself. Thus there is a need for a solid government policy
on the energy sector. There is a lot to be chewed over for the energy industry, with the two parties offering up a menu of price
caps, nationalisations and go-aheads for key projects aimed at ensuring Eljang and Reunii could sustain itself without assistance
from Greater Dankuk.

Businesses go into the election knowing that whoever comes out on top, they may face more regulations and red tape—perversely the
opposite of what was pledged in the free market capitalist dream of Brundtland. In this, it is still important to recognise the
importance of regulation and government distance as the future government must balance its obligations to the concept of free
market capitalism and its obligations to the future of Eljang and Reunii, recognising that F.M.C cannot be championed on all
front of the Republic's socio-economic platforms.

The pro-extended relationship social democrat Emanuel Isaksson has vowed to expand and strengthen the Eljang and Reunii democratic dream after winning a decisive victory over the right-wing Patriotic Front led by Chang Jeong-Ho in the nation's Chief Secretariat election. Isaksson, a former socialist economy minister has promised to ensure that Eljang and Reunii remains the beacon of democracy within the Kyo world, having taken 53% to Jeong-Ho's 47%. His victory was hailed by his supporters as holding back a tide of populism and radical nationalism growing out of the Sunflower Movement. Addressing thousands of supporters in the grand courtyard of the Château du Maitoise, the Lourennais-themed hotel turned banquette hall, Isaksson said he would defend Eljang and Reunii's determination to remain free and democratic. He stated that with the tide of communism returning to Greater Dankuk once more, the need for democratic nations like Eljang and Reunii is becoming increasingly evident. Despite his high public acclaim there are still many in favour of a Kyo Chief Secretary, noting that Isaksson had been born in Kazulia. Despite this, Jeong-Cho's score nonetheless marked a historic high for the Eljang and Reunii right-wing. Even after a lacklustre campaign that ended with a calamitous performance in the final TV debate, he was projected to have taken almost around 40 seats. The anti-immigration, anti-civil administration, pro-austerity had been a major turnoff for some voters. Having been the nation's first democratic election since the Second Kyo Empire and since the formation of the civil administration, turnout was massive, this according to the Elections Commission.

Isaksson, who has never held elected office and was unknown until three years ago, is Eljang and Reunii's most powerful figurehead. With increased powers being curtailed from the Governor who is being transformed into a more constitutional/ceremonial role, the Chief Secretary who chairs the Government of Eljang and Reunii, underneath the supervision of the specially appointed Governor (who represents the civil administration) will come to enjoy increased powers. Chi Chang-Min, an ex-government secretary and Isaksson's left-wing ally, said: “Who represents hope for a better future. We shows us that we should not treat our neighbours conditionally, nor should we view them as outcasts, but we should embrace them.” Jeong-Ho swiftly conceded defeat. He said he had won a “historic and massive” score that made him leader of “the official opposition” in Eljang and Reunii and vowed to radically overhaul the Patriotic Front. His promise to “transform” the right-wing movement left open the possibility that the party could be expanded and renamed in an attempt to boost its electoral chances. It was a major step in the political normalisation of his movement. The outgoing Socialist Chief Secretary, Harry Brundtland, said: “He has won the election and now he must steer Eljang and Reunii towards a better a future. A future full of opportunities not brought forward by my administration. This is the first democratic election government for Eljang and Reunii; not specially appointed as mine, we should cherish it and move to protect this democracy against the tide of radical political views.”

Isaksson's victory came not only because voters supported his policies on security, immigration, energy and business, but was sparked by the amounting fear of the traditionalist right-wing. Although it has been stated that Brundtland has set the foundation for stability in Eljang and Reunii for the coming years, it is up to Isaksson to maintain the balance. Prime Minister Jeanett Caspersen congratulated Isaksson on his electoral victory stating that the nation's first democratic election had shown the world that democracies can work. Iskasson, a former investment banker and senior civil servant who grew up in a bourgeois family in Skalm, served as deputy chief of staff to Brundtland but was not part of the centrist party as it was known during its long, specially appointed reign.

The Civil Administration is to abolish any immigration restrictions on Kyoseon citizens coming to Eljang and Reunii to counter fears that the recent tide of communism sweeping through Kyoseon would force the Administration House to tighten border security. Chief Secretary Emanuel Isaksson will instruct the Security Bureau and the Finance and Economics Bureau to work on a policy agreement to ease entry to Eljang and Reunii for Kyoseon citizens similar to the agreement maintained between Eljang and Reunii and Kazulia. Administration House sources suggested that Isaksson believed Eljang and Reunii should have sent signals immediately after the introduction of the communist government in Kyoseon that it would ease visa restrictions on Kyoseon citizens to counter claims that the civil administration was attempting to marginalise the Kyo community by not allowing persons from Kyoseon/Dankuk to traverse Eljang and Reunii freely and vice-versa. Although the proposed new immigration policy agreement is in its infancy in terms of core development, Isaksson noted that he wanted to meet with President Kim In Sun of Kyoseon/Dankuk to discuss the sentiment of free movement of people and potentially goods between Eljang and Reunii and Kyoseon/Dankuk. "We will be the first state entity for actualise a seamless immigration policy aimed at promoting free movement of people on a transnational basis outside of supranational organisations such as the Artanian Union, the Seleyan Union and the Majatran Union," he said. "But to ensure we continue to lead the way in the advancement of human treatment, we have to not only support the talent that we already have here, but also ensure our immigration system treats everyone with a similar degree of fairness."

Measures could include abolishing the cap on numbers under the existing visa regime for Kyoseon/Dankuk, even though some have cited the security concern coming out of such a decision. Secretary of Security, Chin Chunyong explained the idea of a common travel area between ER and Kyoseon/Dankuk. A common travel area is an open borders area comprising the Eljang and Reunii and Kyoseon/Dankuk. Within the proposed CTA, Kyoseon and ER citizens can travel freely with minimal controls at borders. The proposed common travel area allows various provisions on immigration, namely Kyoseon citizens and ER citizens hold a number of rights in each other’s countries due to proposed reciprocal arrangements to be made between the Kyoseon and ER as it pertains to the common travel area. These will include: the right to freely enter and live in each other’s state; the right to work without needing to get a work permit; access to social welfare entitlements benefits, social housing and health services; and the ability to vote in and stand in local and parliamentary elections. Chief Secretary Emanuel Isaksson has stated that the common travel area was a key note in his campaign and is a very important pillar in his electoral calendar as the agreement could bring in millions of Kyoseon citizens into Eljang and Reunii for the purposes of work and/or leisure which would in return boost Eljang and Reunii's economy, which has already surpassed that of Kyoseon. Chunyong noted that the agreement, should it be negotiated with the Kyoseon Government, could be viewed by persons in Kyoseon as an attempt by the civil administration to "rescue" capitalists from the iron fist of the Kyoseon communist government. Isaksson stated that although he shared the sentiment with Secretary Chunyong, the agreement should not be viewed as an attempt by his government to allow for anti-communists and capitalists of the like to flee into Eljang and Reunii.

"There is a serious security concern coming out of this new policy," Chang Jeong-Ho, political leader of the Patriotic Front noted. "These people [the Kyoseon Government] have already made their genocidal intentions clear when they continued to lament that there would be no Eljang and Reunii in 50 years." Jeong-Ho stated that Chief Secretary Isaksson was opening a Pandora's box of terrorist attacks, civil unrest. There are a considerable portion of the 20 million strong population of Eljang and Reunii whom are stringently against the sentiment of increase immigration quotas for persons coming from Kyoseon, citing the agreement nature of communist government and also the fact that the Kyoseon Government has been upping the ante as it pertains moderate and otherwise anti-communist sentiments in the nation. Notably conservative writer, Kye Dae-Hyun said: "Everyday the Chief Secretary stands in the House of Assembly to defend the government in Kyoseon will be another day of shame for the House of Assembly. Another day of shame for a government which should have already died of shame." In discussing the police's response to the potential of an immigration agreement of this magnitude, Chief Constable Kenneth Mathiesen refused to comment, citing that the Police does not comment on government policy, especially immigration policy where he said that the Border Security Agency was better equipped to comment, recognising that it was responsible for immigration policy enforcement. Chief Secretary Isaksson is expected to travel to Kyoseon once his communique to discuss the immigration agreement with President In Sun has been approved through the necessary channels.

A new report by the global research and advisory firm the Centre for Economic Development (CED) on Eljang and Reunii will explore the key measures being implemented to strengthen the country's financial service sector with a view to cementing Eljang and Reunii's position as Dovani's second financial services hub, after Skalm. The report stated that Eljang and Reunii in the future, will look in detailed at the national drive underway to enhance the twin-provinces' business environment as apart of a broader effort to boost inflows amidst the end of the Kazulian administration. CED would also highlight the sector of Eljang and Reunii's economy posed for growth, with the agriculture, ICT, logistics, manufacturing and financial services sectors being among those earmarked for in-depth coverage. Other topics set for analysis include the twin provinces; plans to move forward with a new approach to public-private partnerships for its raft of infrastructure and housing development projects. In addition, the report would consider the challenges that Eljang and Reunii faces as the financial buffers introduced by the Kazulian administration to boost the economy's standing in the global sphere would be removed after Kazulian hands over the twin provinces back to the government in Kyoseon. The Finance and Economics Bureau, which is championing the development of ER's fintech-enabled financial services hub, signed a partnership agreement with CED for its forthcoming publication. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the Finance and Economics Bureau will help to produce the report entitled "Eljang and Reunii - Economic Development Outlook" and other publications that will be made available across the various platforms of the Centre for Economic Development.

Secretary of Finance and Economics, Victor Oddvarson said that the Finance and Economics Bureau looked forward to working with the CED for what marks a fourth consecutive year, adding that he was confident that the partnership would once again be mutually beneficial. He lamented that the Finance and Economics Bureau of the Central Government continues to cement its relationship with business community that share its core values and provide value to the financial services sector of Eljang and Reunii. He noted that the Memorandum of Understanding allows for greater access to information and international networks, thus creating linkages that extend the reach of Eljang and Reunii-centred investment. Welcoming the Centre for Economic Development on-board, Roe Seung-Ho, CED's Director for Eljang and Reunii said whilst the future of Eljang and Reunii presents an extremely challenging narrative for the central government, it was noted that several key measures had been implemented at supporting the financial sector's growth, including the New Securities Act and enhanced insurance regulations. "The initiatives of the Finance and Economics Bureau are a key player in the economic development and continued growth efforts of the civil administration and its bid to carve a niche as leading hub for financial services in Dovani and the wider international domain." Seung-Ho noted. "I'm delight that we will be collaborating with its team on research for our forthcoming report, which will shed light on the country's latest investment opportunities, economic development and fiscal package for the coming decades after the Kazulian administration and the financial and economic support coming out of the administration comes to an end."

The report reads that "Eljang and Reunii - Economic Development Outlook" will mark the culmination of more than 12 months of field research by a team of analysts from the Centre for Economic Development (CED). The report by the CED will be contain interview from past and present political and business figures within Eljang and Reunii including former Chief Secretary of Eljang and Reunii Harry Brundtland, incumbent Chief Secretary Emanuel Isaksson, Secretary of Finance and Economics Victor Oddvarson, Chairman of Taikon Group Man Sung-Soo and Chairman of the SSBC Financial Group Ko Sun-Hwa. As the civil administration's mandate comes closer towards an end and negotiations between Chief Secretary Isaksson, Governor Madeleine Tegnér and President of Kyoseon Kim In Sun set to begin 10 years prior to the expiration of the Treaty of Rodshyadam's provisions on mandate of the civil administration, there is mounting uncertainty as it pertains to future of Eljang and Reunii. Many fear that the communist systems of Kyoseon will be carried over into Eljang and Reunii and henceforth bring about the collapse of the democratic institutions and the free market capitalist system which have been the centre for the among of prosperity seen in the twin provinces. The Centre for Economic Development has noted that the uncertainty coming out of the negotiations process would have an effect on the economy, stating that it could bring about the largest capital flight into Skalm never seen since the Dovanian War. Secretary Oddvarson noted that he was aware of the concerns arising from the negotiations but noted that Eljang and Reunii's economic development could be hindered should the negotiations fail and there is no agreement on a smooth transition. He said,"Should we fail to implement a smooth transition, the weight of communism in Kyoseon could crash Eljang and Reunii's economy."
