Jelbék Etoé Jelbék'aigrm (Jelbic Eastern Horde), approximately fifty miles west of Papel, Bommelaer/Bomkalek, VanukuThe horde's advance had been surprisingly easy - even against the Wrnukék mice.
Skoékai Genzisrmko reined his warhorse in and lowered his rifle, taking a moment to catch his breath. The ride up the coast of Rilmos and to the outskirts of the port city of Papel had been a difficult one for the Eastern Horde, but he was happy to have been chosen to fight here rather than in the Middle or Western Hordes - their journeys through the Baniray Steppe and over the mountainous border must have been grueling.
The Eastern Horde was comprised primarily of Jelbék horsemen, nearly fifty thousand, but also included a significant contingent of more heavily armed Deltarians and Jelbic mercenaries. The mercenaries were at the command of the various drug corporations, whose executives saw an opportunity to extend the Jelbic drug trade into the Vanukese south. Their soldiers were remarkably well equipped, but entirely un-traditional - they fought in armored vehicles imported from Deltaria and elsewhere, and eschewed the horses ridden by the vast majority of the Jelbék horde.
Filthy Jeztaghényr, thought Skoékai Genzisrmko as he watched with disgust as a group of these mercenaries disembark from an armored car to rape a Wrnukék woman - it was the car that bothered him. The mercenaries acted more like Deltarians or Zardic dogs than like Jelbéks. Skoékai Genzisrmko patted his horse's broad neck, as if to reassure them both that there still was a place for them on Terra.
With the help of the Deltarians, the horde's advance had been swift. In only days they had ridden from Jelbania to the outskirts of Papel, the capture of which would be a heavy blow to the Vanukese economy in southern Vanuku, as well as to its naval strength. It had seemed, almost, like the Vanukese had abandoned hope and left their border towns for the taking. It was no surprise to Skoékai Genzisrmko, the Wrnukék Mouse in Wiel was no warrior, such had been proved on the Baniray Steppe in
Sbtlshjogad against the H'àn. The horde had made them pay for their cowardice - southeastern Bomkalek now burned, and Papel soon would fall.
Just a bunch of shit.
