Barmenia shifts priorities.

Eksandr- In a sign of the King's determination to win the 'little side war' in Zardugal, it has been made known that His Grace, also known as the Emperor Calixtus, has reserved an estimated 100.000 troops for the purpose of deployment should the need arise. Some in the court have decried the 'outright imperialism of his Grace and his Privy Council' regarding the Zardic war; it has been estimated that thus far, over 600,000 civilians and countless professional military personnel have been killed in the war on the side of the opposition.

Titanic clash in central Majatran Sea
First Fleet emerges victorious after bloody struggle!

Image
A frigate engages the Trigunians.

With the Cildanians defeated there is only one nation that can repel the Trigunians from the Majatran Sea: the Principality of Vanuku. The First Fleet had already been moving through the Majatran Sea for the past few weeks but had received specific orders to not engage until Wiel confirmed that a state of war existed between the nations of Vanuku and Trigunia. The skirmish between a Cildanian and Trigunian vessel was enough for the naval commanders, yet Wiel disagreed arguing that the tensions could still be ironed out. Naval command argued for tighter communications between the Cildanian and Vanukean navies, yet again Wiel denied such a thing, stating that the Cildanian navy could function independently. Sadly however, it seemed that the situation was misjudged. The Cildanian navy suffered a massive defeat at the hand of the Trigunians, leading to much loss of modern equipment supplied by Vanuku.

This however was unacceptable and Wiel called for vengeance. The First Fleet was given only one task: hunt down the Trigunians. The most modern fleet of the world had no problem in doing this task, as several damaged vessels of the Trigunians left their trace of oil in the sparkling blue Majatran Sea. It was in the middle of this mighty sea that the two titans engaged in a thunderous sea battle. Yet only one party could emerge victorious. The Vanukeans had been chasing the Trigunians for days and the combined efforts of good navigating, scouting and a drop of luck gave them the first move.

The First Fleet consists of 1 carrier, the flagship HVMS Támnr, brings around 50 Z-35's to the fray. The First Fleet also brings 5 of the highly advanced Vijf Staten-class frigates (Zeven Provinciën-class) together with 8 multi-purpose frigates (Karel Doorman-class), 12 corvettes (Holland-class) and a screen of 7 submarines (Walrus-class) to harass the Trigunians from the depths. The Trigunians were still licking their wounds as the Vanukeans struck with an airstrike, closely followed by a submarine strike. Then the main naval force came in to give the Trigunians a good hammering. The Trigunians mounted a serious counter-attack but their tactical disadvantage quickly decided their fate. After a few hours of battle the Trigunians, with severe losses, retreated. The Vanukeans set chase for a while but in the end left to lick their own fresh wounds.

Deltarian Military Leaders begin planning strategies for invasion of Vanuku and other contingencies such as a possible southern invasion into Jakania and even Cobura

After Vanuku got involved in the Majatran Sea attempting to aid Cildania Boris Avram the Presedinte of Deltaria has decided to ask the Czarist Rada for a Declaration of War against Vanuku and Cildania in order to support Trigunia. Avram has also requested a massive military purchase of Deltarian T-14 battle tanks, the latest development from the Bulganin Corporation.

Avram also appealed the Pontesi and Jelbania to honor the Cachitce Security Pact and come to Deltaria's defense in what he called a war that is defensive because of neccessity.

Partisans hold the Heights: Indralan Military finds crossing Mountains a "Slog"

Main road from Eveari to Kaliburg Nicknamed "Trail of Death"

September 3rd, 3992
Kaliburg, Ananto

Indralan Forces push inland, Forward momentum slowed

Partisan units of the Revolutionary Socialist Militia of Kalistan have been successfully holding the heights of the Angry and the Constipated Mountains for a significant portion of the war. Indralan forces are regularly sniped at from unseen positions in the heavily forested mountains by Partisan snipers, and there are still regular skirmishes between the Socialist Militia and the Indralan Military, who has been trying to cross the range. There has been so many clashes between Indralan forces and Socialist militia units along the main road between Eveari and Kaliburg, that the road has been named, on both sides, "the Trail of Death." Hundreds of Kalistani Partisans have lost their lives in the constant battle over the wild terrain and most have been buried where they fell. The Militia also reports that hundreds of Indralans have been killed as well, but this number is entirely unconfirmed.

In the Spring of this year, Indralan forces from Dulnerstaad launched a major flanking offensive through the Constipated Mountains, aiming to jar Partisan forces from their strong holds. Several Partisan units were over run fairly quickly, resulting in more than 200 Socialist Partisan Infantry captured or killed, as well as the loss of several important Militia batteries overlooking Indralan forces coming up from the Bluegrass Valley. The collapse of the Militia's left flank in the Constipated Mountains may spell trouble for the RSMoK, who have been forced to begin a defense in depth.

Militia Spokesperson Cpl. Gail Villariva said to Republican Dispatches that as Indralan forces push into the mountains and have more success, Kalistani Partisans will have to slowly move back toward Kaliburg, and will need to fight rearguard actions the entire way. Cpl Villariva also noted that the President of the Republic has been engaged in combat regularly, and is currently safe. "She's a good fighter, and has been promoted twice, though, her battery was one of the units that was overrun, and she has joined the Infantry. She has expressed interest in Leadership, and is currently being moved into command of an infantry column on Mt. Shmee."

Image
Socialist Partisans of the RSMoK 127th "Revolutionary Commandos" stand ready to go into Ambush during a day like any other in the Angry Mountains

With the Indralan blockade remaining solid, much of Kaliburg in rubble from Naval Bombardment, and Ananto cut off from any help, the situation will grow more acute around the capital. Partisan units which have yet to be engaged around Xanadu are being called to the Front to join the fight against a pending Indralan breech in the mountains, but it is already beginning to look desperate for Kalistani Partisans, and the regulars from other parts of the Island may be called up immediately to the vicinity of Mt. Shmee to shore up Militia defenses there. Mt. Shmee is the last strong point between the main Indralan force and the Capital, and if this area falls to Indrala, they will obtain the high ground.

Meanwhile, the Battle of Dahriel is nearly completed. Kalistani defense of the City has proved to be effective, and Kalistani Regulars there, under the Command of General Henry E. Allen have begun a counter offensive designed to push Indrala back into the Sea. Fierce fighting between the two forces has subsided, with both sides losing about even casualties in what is often times battles which last for several days each. Allen stated that his troops have the fighting spirit and have contained Indralan forces to the vicinity of the Dah Delta's swampy lowlands. Allen expects to finish the counter offensive by Spring. The citizens of Dahriel, much of which has been destroyed by artillery fire are thankful to General Allen for saving the city from certain doom.

Cildania Licks her Wounds

Image
Cildanian foreign minister Baʿlshilat Ḣamr rejecting the Trigunian ultimatum

The crushing defeat at the battle of Asad left the Cildanian navy nearly non-existent. Although Vanuku joined the war soon after the battle and has engaged the Trigunian navy, the damage was already done, leaving Cildania and her tenuous empire vulnerable.

Soon after the battle, the forces of Badaran warlord Iksandar ibn Tomas Al Azahari, after having taken over the city of Dar as-Salam, proceeded to proclaim an independent Emirate, and is currently reuniting Badara under his rule. One of his first acts was the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Cildanians and Badaran collaborators, and there are even reports of massacres directed against the remaining Cildanians. Now the Kingdom of Cildania retains a tenuous control over a rapidly shrinking Badaran territory, centred around the formed capital of Bier Qassem.

At home too the government's position is threatened, as the battle revealed the nation's unpreparedness for war. Particularly criticized were the actions of Rear Admiral Sifaks Kilani and the suspicious disappearance of three Cildanian frigates, as well as his questionable decision to engage the clearly more numerous Trigunian navy. Although Kilani was dismissed, more radical members of the Senate call for his crucifixion, as was ancient Cildanian practice towards losing generals. The position of reformist Democratic Advancement Movement was also greatly strengthened, and the party is now campaigning for an end to the war and an acceptance of the Trigunian ultimatum.

Now Cildania is attempting to recover her defensive capabilities. Most controversially the Senate is currently debating an act that may legalize privateering and employ several of the numerous pirates currently roaming the Majatran Sea, and Cildania reportedly entered an arrangement with the private mercenary company Danaoi, headquartered in Kalopia.

Green Sea Fleet Reinforces Mad Dog Ocean Fleet; Trigunia to uphold international commitments.
Green Sea Fleet reinforces; Trigunia deploys International Expeditionary Forces across terra.
Image
Soldiers of the 1st Expeditionary Corps, board aircraft to be airlifted to Delteria.
11th December, 3992

After the Mad Dog Ocean Fleet was sent limping by the Vanukean First Fleet, the Green Sea Fleet has finally arrived to assist the Mad Dog Fleet. Sent by Trigunia for his exact purpose to reinforce the Mad Dog Ocean Fleet in the event that the fleet had a run in with the Vanukean First Fleet. Trigunia's military is expanding its support to the Delterian Czar whilst also negotiating to form an alliance with the House of Al Azahari in Al'Badar who is currently moving the liberate the nation from Cildanian occupation. The Green Sea Fleet, Trigunia's most advanced formation of warships, had to navigate its way around Cildania to avoid conflict with what remains of the already crippled Cildanian Navy. After the Mad Dog Ocean Fleet was engaged by the Cildanian Navy, due to the fleet's size and advanced weaponry it overwhelmed the Cildanians from a technological and strategic standpoint. Mother Bear will be reinforced by Father Bear, the Bears versus the Lion. As expected the Bear will not step down from its course, but will try again at breaking through the Lion's line and reaching to its cub. This time, the Green Sea Fleet has assisted the Mad Dog Ocean Fleet in repairs of its vessels. With Trigunia's Nuclear Claw in the mix with a Ballistic Missile Submarine assisting in hunting down the Vanukean First Fleet, which is currently licking its wounds after the initial skirmish.

Whilst the current conflicts may be going on, Trigunia is also keeping on eye on some its allies, Mainly Al'Badara. The nation was taken under Cildanian Control back in November of 3971 from those days onwards Trigunia has been constantly threatening a full-scale invasion of Cildania and of Al'Badara, but has not done so seeing that it would have no support. But now, the House of Al Azahari is reclaiming the land once owned to Al'Badara from the Cildanians and are now forcing an exodus over Cildanian people and Badaran collaborators. After an embargo on the nation led to massive economic strain, Trigunia now steps up to support Al'Badara and boost Tomas Al Azahari's regime since despite the conflict with the Cildanians, pockets of Ahmadi Extremist and opposition elements have been appearing across the nation. Trigunian run in's with Ahmadi Extremists have not ended in the favor of the Ahmadis. Trigunia is willing to unleash its military might on the Cildanians, Extremists and Opposition forces in Al'Badara and is promising to have no mercy and anyone who wishes ill upon Al'Badara, so much that it is willing to send the entirety of the Southern Military District, which is responsible for international deployment, into Al'Badara to assist Al Azahari's forces.

While the Hutorians had officially declared war on Deltaria two years ago and Trigunia had followed suit declaring war on the Federal Republic a month later no combat had actually occurred between the two northern military powers. The interlude had gone on between both being known jokingly as the "Frozen War", as it had been able as active as a glacier. While some believed this to be fear on the part of the Hutorians and inability on part of the Trigunians, with the bulk of their attention to the deep south, nothing could be further the truth.

Hutori's Defence Staff has purposefully not struck, waiting to see just how many forces the Trigunian military would re-direct to the south, and with the bulk of the Trigunian Imperial Navy, and the entirety of their Southern Military District all south, and Anatonese Ocean Fleet heavily dedicated in the east the word had come down directly from the mouth of the President "Winter Lion." The snowy lion of Bekenial was ready to strike... and finally time to show not only Trigunia but the entire world that Hutori would not be cowed by the Bear and that Hutori could not only stand on her own two legs, but put the presumptive northern hegemony in her place.

With the Mad Dog Ocean and Green Sea Fleets now deployed in the Majatran Sea, and attempting to deal with Vanuku it was actually the Hutorians that had the single largest naval force sailing the northern waves... and none more powerful then their newly formed Northern Operations Fleet. Consisting of the best ships of Hutori's 2nd and 3rd Fleets, it was lead by the HNS-Jameson and HNS-King William III, with the Jameson serving as its flagship and was directly backed up by 13 Bekenial class Frigates, 8 Mashacara class Destroyers and 3 Sentinel class Submarines... and they were all barreling now down on Trigunia's vulnerable western flank.

The Sea of Deliverance Flotilla was supposed to be the force that could protect Trigunia's west from any Hutorian aggression with the Green Sea and Mad Dog Ocean Fleets gone... but that was the issue; It was in fact simply a flotilla which had forced it to spread out considerably over hundreds of miles of open water. The Hutorians had been taking no chances and had been carefully keeping track of the single biggest threats to the Northern Operations Fleet; the TKVM-Ozerov, their mighty Raduga class Battlecruiser and the two Bezrukov class Cruisers and all three were fortuitously currently engaged watching the arctic. The rest of the Fleet was spread out either in the south or safe in their harbour back in Petrovgrad... this would be the only opening the Hutorians would need.

Image

At 1:00 am local time, on December 23rd, 3992, what would ultimately become known as the Northern War began. HF-35C Cyclones had been taking off from the HNS-Jameson and HNS-King William III bringing the full might of the Aircraft Carriers against Trigunia's west coast. The Jameson's 4th, 5th and 6th Carrier Fighter Squadrons had taken off and were head for the southwestern edge of Radin while the King William III's 7th, 8th and 9th Carrier Fighter Squadrons were screaming towards Brakav Island. Each Squadron had been turned into a mixed composition wing of 9 HF-35C Cyclones and 3 HF-19 Twister ECR (Electronic Counter Response) Fighters... and this initial Fighter strike's goal was simple; make a window. The time chosen, in the height of winter, in the middle of a frigid night, just after the night watch would be coming on the Hutorian Fighter Force unleashed a wave of air to surface missiles, onto Trigunia's western air defences and radar stations, carving open a small corridor of blindness before a swarm of cruise missiles launched from the fleet to finish the job the Hutorian Naval Air Forces had began, and to take the small corridor and rip it wide open and completely blind western Trigunia to the real threat that was inbound from eastern Hutori; HF-35 of both other variants and HF-20 Hurricanes of the 3rd and 4th Fighter Wings which would open up the main air assault while behind that in bound was the initial wave of the ground invasion.

Being transported by the 9th Air Mobility Wing were the fighting forces of Hutori's elite 9th Airborne Division, who would be aimed at Brakav island, while against the Trigunian mainland, the 1st and 2nd Marine Divisions began their trek to the coast as soon as the Air Force finished blinding the Trigunians... and then the real fighting would begin.

Invasion of Trigunia.
Hutori invades Trigunia, already making massive gains in Brakav.
Image
The City of Trivoslavl during the Hutorian airstrikes.
23rd December,3992

Like being stabbed by your own brother, Hutori attack from the Western Flank. Left slightly open after the Green Sea Fleet was sent to reinforce the Mad Dog Ocean Fleet in Majatra in order to fend off the Vanukean First Fleet and any other navy that dared to challenge the Trigunian Navy. Guarding the left flank was up to the Sea of Deliverance Flotilla, a small formation of vessels, originally crafted as the last line of defense of Trigunia’s territorial waters. So the Flotilla was challenged with several tasks, guard the Western Flank and the waters around Trigunia’s coast, but after the Hutorians came it was much different. They struck the homeland when the Sea of Deliverance Flotilla was in the arctic some 4,000 kilometers away. In a force that resembled that of lightening, they struck fast and they struck where it hurt. Brakav, Trigunia’s Industrial powerhouse had fallen to the Hutorian invasion. The Southern Military District was out on deployment which meant that the Hutorians met little resistance, the only resistance came from local law enforcement operators such as the Imperial Police and the State Security Directorate’s South-Eastern Division.

The ignorance of Trigunian Naval High Command ordered the Anantonese Sea Fleet to remain at its current location in the Anantonese Sea, for they saw New Endralon and the now Junta ruled Egelion as a threat to Trigunia’s eastern flank. Most Generals and lower rankers saw Naval High Command’s decisions as moronic but now had to face the Hutorians on their own without any naval support. After the initial invasion massacred the Southern Military District for it caught off guard, those who got the opportunity to book it to the Mainland, did not take any chances and left. A sea of terrified Trigunians gathered what they can and fled to the mainland on boats, rafts or anything that floated. Back on the mainland, The Western Military District was divided to hold in Radin whilst also moving to clash with the Hutorian Marines who had simultaneously attacked the Western Oblast of Radin.

Even though they had decimated the Sea of Deliverance Flotilla, sending it crawling back to the harbours in Petrovgrad, Naval High Command insisted that the Anantonese Sea Fleet remain at its current position in the Anantonese Sea for the Indralans could also be a challenge due to their naval superiority in the region. The Minister-President aware of the Hutorian invasion on the homeland, ordered for the removal of all of Trigunia’s Inter-continential ballistic missiles (ICBMs) West of the Radin-Vrosnok border to be hauled to the East. The 2nd and 3rd Expeditonary Corps along with the 8th and 9th Naval Infantry Corps were all ordered to clash with Hutorians making the assault on Radin from the West. 80,000 troops gathered for the counter-offensive, the air force, ordered to move all equipment from the West and to the East, whilst also assisting in the Counter-Offensive on Brakav and Radin.
The Minister-President, the Tsar and several other high-ranking officials of administration of Trigunia were all sent into bunkers in secretive locations where they will command the movement of troops from there on. The Mad Dog Ocean Fleet and the Green Sea Fleet have both been ordered to return to Trigunia immediately, leaving majatran allies to fend for themselves. Trigunia was caught off guard, and will not see years of dedication of the Hutorian Armed Forces come into play. Many wins and losses will unfold after now as the Hutorians hits Trigunia from her blind side.

Trigunia losing ground, quickly.
Rodshyadam and Malchik fall, Kommenovsk, Nozdok and Tirvoslavl struggling for survival
Image
A Situation map of the Hutorian Invasion, (Blue=Hutori, Yellow=Trigunia)
12th February, 3993

Trigunian citizens are battling for their survival in and around the cities of Kommenovsk, Nozdok and Tirvoslavl after a blitz of Hutorian airstrikes and ground forces sever the Industrial powerhouse of Trigunia and maybe the Northern Hemisphere. The Hutorian onslaught against Trigunian positions after Trigunian Military Command stupidly left the nation's western arm open and exposed, coincided with the failed counter-offensive in Brakav. Some 10,000 troops outnumbered out-gunned, were slaughtered by Hutorian marine brigades in Brakav. But not all hope has been lost for 70,000 troops are currently fighting in Radin to fend off the attack from the Hutorians. After constant pounding from the Hutorians, the Trigunia has not gotten the true ability to advance against the Hutorians. The cities of Rodshyadam and Malchik had fallen under Hutorian control and as expected the Hutorians are about to receive immense logistical support for the homeland. It is still unclear weather the Mad Dog Ocean and Green Sea Fleet are away of the invasion for eye-witness reports say that the two fleets have been spotted in Delterian docks, some currently under repairs, refuel and rearmament after their engagement with the Vanukean First Fleet and the Cildanian Navy.

Morozorota and Heinrichgrad are the main targets of much Hutorian artillery strikes. Already the Army has ordered for the evacuation of citizens to the East. Heinrichgrad, Trigunia's former capital, the small street metropolis, will be a challenge for the Hutorian attackers and that Trigunian Naval Infantry men may very well have an advantage against the Hutorians in Heinrichgrad and in Morozorota for the Trigunians know the city's terrain like the back of their hands. But one cannot predict what the Hutorians can do after seeing that it did to Brakav. Trigunia is quickly losing through to what only seemed to be a regional power. The bear was caught off guard and still dazed back the unexpected attack and it seems that the bear needs to get back onto its feet in order to protect its den.
