Later when defence analysts around the world looked at Operation Winter Lion many would agree they were initially shocked. Very few would admit that they had expected Hutori to be able to launch such an overwhelming strike of this magnitude; even fewer would think it possible against the Trigunian Bear. Davostan or even Telamon maybe, but Trigunia, never. Upon closer examination of the Hutorian strategy, tactical doctrine, and almost godlike logistical might, however, it became apparent that this clearly had been planned for a long time, and Hutori had truly been waiting for this moment to take it.

After the initial air strikes, the cruise missiles had impacted their targets further reducing the Trigunian air picture entirely to what few aircraft may have been up in the air at the time and whatever mobile ground stations Trigunia would have had in the west; a patchy picture at best. It was now that the main air assault began as the 3rd and 4th Fighter Wings entered into Trigunian airspace. The HF-35A Blizzard and HF-20 Hurricanes blitzed the Trigunian airfields and bases they had known about crippling what response could have been brought against them, and finishing off any ground stations, completely blinding the trigunians and giving the Hutorians unfettered air supremacy over western Radin and Brakav.

Following the overwhelming and crippling air assault General Harrison Ford, the overall commander of Operation Winter Lion and all Hutorian forces in Trigunia, had sent in the Marines. The 1st and 2nd Marine Division, further divided into the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Marine Brigades, had began their initial ground assault against Radin. The Air Force and Navy had done their job and done it extraordinarily well; all resistance that could have been offered had been entirely wiped from existence as the first Marine boots had touched the ground. From their beachhead 3 of the Marine Brigades, 1st, 3rd and 4th, had began pushing northeast towards Rodshyadam while the 2nd had remained behind to secure their beachhead.

The battle for Rodshyadam should have been pitched, it should have been difficult, but Trigunia had truly not expected the Hutorians to be able to land and assault in such force, or understood just how much they were willing to put into this. What little organized ground resistance had been possible had been pushed aside from a combined Air Assault from the 3rd Fighter Wing, and the 3rd Carrier Air Wing, as air, artillery and missile strikes had softened up Trigunia's most southwestern city up so much that the Marines had to more or less simply push in and take it; shock and awe had crippled resistance. After that the second wave began arriving; the 1st, 4th and 5th Armoured Divisions and the 1st, 8th and 10th Mechanized Infantry Divisions, along with the overall ground commander for the Hutorian operation on the Trigunian mainland, Lieutenant General Justin Bishop. Coming from a long military pedigree family, Lieutenant General Bishop was an arrogant man who believed in his own superiority and meteoric rise to prominence... which was ultimately backed up with a naturally keen military mind.

On Brakav with air supremacy established the 9th Airborne Division had been parachuted into Malchik in three separate groups. The 21st Parachute Infantry Regiment captured the port facilities as the 6th Air Cavalry and 22nd Air Assault Regiments had captured Malchik International Airport. With that done the 9th Air Mobility Wing was able to start landing in overwhelming force, beginning with the airlifting in of the 4th Mechanized Infantry Division. Together these forces had captured the rest of the city with minimal difficulty, able to overwhelm what little resistance the Imperial Police and GBD's Southwestern Division was able to offer to the hardened Hutori Airborne troopers and their mechanized brothers. With Malchik entirely under their control the 2nd Armoured Division had arrived along with the Brakav ground commander; Major General Steven Woodbury, commander of the 9th Airborne Division and considered one of the most brash and aggressive commanders in the Hutorian Army. Many claimed that the man would have done just as much driving a tank as jumping out of aircraft and it was happenstance that had lead him in command of the 9th rather then one of Hutori's armoured formations. While mildly peeved he hadn't been given a position for the main assault on Radin, the fact he avoided being a subordinate to his long time rival General Bishop, had meant he wouldn't have to take an order from a man he couldn't stand on the best of days... and he could call the shots for Brakav.

What followed for the next several weeks would further convince the analysts who studied the conflict that not only did Trigunia underestimate the Hutorians; so did most of the world.

With their initial objectives secure Hutori had brought to bare their expansive and long prepared logistical might as Rodshyadam and Malchik turned into logistical hubs, allowing the Hutorians to transport in everything they needed and allowed General Ross to further organize his troops. 1st Armoured and 1st Mechanized Infantry Divisions were combined into I Corps, 8th Mechanized and 4th Armoured were organized into II Corps, 5th Armoured and 10th Mechanized into III Corps, while 1st and 2nd Marine Division were pushed into I Marine Corps. I and II Corps were further organized into the Hutorian First Army and III Corps and I Marine Corps became the Hutorian Second Army. The forces on Brakav were universally organized into the Hutorian Third Army, which were all organized universally under the Hutorian Army Group North. Malchik International Airport and any Trigunian Air Stations around western Brakav came under Hutorian Air Force command and control and were used as a staging ground for the Hutorian Trigunian Expeditionary Air Group, in effective all Hutorian Air Force that would be fighting in Trigunia. Meanwhile off the coast the Northern Operations Fleet perform the dual task of keeping up the Hutorian supply chain from Port Prosperity to Malchik and Rodshyadam and enforcing the Hutorian blockade over Trigunia's west coast. By the time the Trigunian counter offensive was ready and launched, Hutori had been ready.

Third Army on Brakav had to barely do anything, the 10,000 troops capable of launching it came under a withering air offensive from marauding HF-19 Twister ECRs, HF-20 Hurricanes and HF-35B Hailstorms, destroying vehicles, artillery and any organized troops formations before a knockout blow came from a general counter offensive launched by the Leopard 2H6Es of the 2nd Armoured Division's 3rd Armoured Regiment. With their general rout, Third Army had launched a series of thrusts clear across the island, capturing land, bases and towns as they went with seemingly little difficulty or resistance. Most of Trigunia's industrial base was quickly captured and a noose wrapped around Brakav's three eastern cities. 2nd Armoured Division was handling the assault against Kommenovsk, 9th Airborne Division against Nozdok in the centre while the 4th Mechanized Infantry Division was tackling Tirvoslavl in the north. The last true organized resistance on Brakav had been made here, and the 4th didn't want to tackle the north port without serious assistance so instead they sat back and hammered the port with artillery, cruise missiles and air strikes until it finally surrendered, ensuring an ongoing siege.

On the mainland General Bishop's First Army was "given" the honour of the primary thrust north, towards the vaunted city of Heinrichgrad. This was of particular importance to General Bishop; if it made it back to Bekenial that he had captured Trigunia's most important city in the west, being the former capital of Trigunia, its largest city, and named after a former Hutorian King, it would skyrocket his own career and that of his family's name for decades to come. By chance however this was also the primary axis that the Trigunians had decided to launch their counter-stroke, the 2nd and 3rd Expeditionary Corps and the 8th and 9th Naval Infantry Corps had pushed southwest from Heinrichgrad and had even gotten close before General Bishop had launched his trap. Holding in the centre with his II Corps, they created a ad-hoc defensive line north of Rodshyadam which the Trigunians smashed into. While the Expeditionary Corps made some limited gains along the coast Genera Bishop sprung the trap; while II Corps had been holding them in the centre I Corps had been sent off the west in a long flanking action and now the 1st Armoured Division was smashing into the Trigunia's right flank, forcing the Trigunians to pull forces from their primary thrust to protect their flank. Combined with a general counter attack with cover again from Cruise missiles from the Fleet off the coast and airstrikes from the marauding Air Force further weakening it the Trigunians attempting to hold back the Hutorian First Army.

While this was going on, further to the west General Max Torrance's Second Army was unleashed for a massive blitz north towards Morozorota. With almost all of the Trigunia's effort focused defending Heinrichgrad Second Army was able to advance almost entirely unimpeded across the Radin steppe coming within a few dozen kilometres of Trigunia's most northwestern city; already artillery pounded the Trigunian's frontline positions as Second Army prepared for its assault.

The Trigunians then faced a stark choice, either continuing focusing everything for the defence of Heinrichgrad and leave Morozorota to its fate, or else divide its forces and attempt to hold back both of Hutori's powerful strike forces.

BLOG: JELBANIA FREEDOMS IS DEFENDING, ALSO I AM UPDATING YOU ON MY LIFES

HELLO EVERYONE, IS HEIJ!

I am being unequivocally sorry at not being posting since many days yore. I am having studies in Luthorans and am being very busy, and also am having no internets because fancy Yeudis cafes in Baofluz are kicking me out over minuscule misunderstandings. I am not wanting Yeudis spit in my coffees, is this too much to be asking?

I am having big updates for you since last postings. I am still being enormous in beds. I am very carnal with many womens. I am still being very richness in Kalopians machines and I am also selling my vans. Is too old for me now that I am being big shot blog poster. I am feeling some sadnesses at losing the locations where three of my childrens were assembled, but progressing is progressing as we are saying in Jelbania. Soon I will be assembling more childrens in much nicer vans.

Image
New vans which Heij is buying soon to matching his quality lifestyle

I am also taking up drawings. Here is depiction I made of my horse after he is being post-coitus.

Heij's horse, being drawn in his contemplations

I am of course not forgetting to telling you that Jelbania is defending freedoms for Deltarian brothers and is declaring glorious war yesterdays on girly-girl Zardic Dog Prince Juhn in Vanuku. Our premium H'án is having none of Prince Juhn's shittings, and is very angryness at Vanuku mice for picking on weakling water boats of defenseless Trigunians and Deltarians. H'án Intrsmor Azisrmko is telling Prince Juhns "HEY, you are fighting fishes and shrimps, but you are not being mens! We are here to stopping you!" And so Jelbéks are going to stopping him.

The snooty-tooty Vanukus are thinking that their hundreds of thousands of boys on the borders are going to stopping Jelbéks with their fancy-shmancy premiums tanks and air tanks. But how are they going to stopping our Jelbék warriors, who are the kin of Temrkai H'án, the semen-born of Timur H'án, the scourge of Majatras?

Image
Jelbék warriors, the semen-born of Timur H'án

We are the Jelbéks who united the north Majatras. We are the Jelbéks who will be riding through Wiel and raping the Zardic Dog's womens. We are having none of Prince Juhn's shittings! Our boys to the north are marching!
Just a bunch of shit.

Kalistani Republic
National Assembly Destroyed by Indralan Guns

Pressure mounts for Peace, Major Counteroffensive as War drags on

Kaliburg, Ananto District
July 4, 3993

Image
The National Assembly Building, completely destroyed by Indralan Naval Gunfire, joins the rubble of a demolished capital.

Kalistani Lawmakers have lost the last reason to remain in Kaliburg as Indralan naval gunfire has completely demolished the National Assembly building overnight. In the explosion, the Defense Minister, Millicent Grognard was gravely injured and was immediately evacuated to the St. Pentalarc Memorial Hospital in the Old City, which is one of the few public buildings still functioning. It is not clear whether Grognard will survive: Doctors have listed her condition as "critical but stable." The only other Kalistani Nationals injured in the bombardment were six security guards and two civilians who were on the street at the hour that the building was demolished.

National Assembly members communicated with one another by phone and have decided to relocate to Xanadu, in the Southern part of the Island, where they will convene an emergency session. In the meanwhile, The President has named Colonel Fredrika Current as Defense Minister. Current, a Socialist and aide to Grognard, will serve indefinitely. In her first statement to the Kalistani Press, Colonel Current said,
"The Government of Kalistan is in consultation with the leaders of Kalistan's Regular ground forces on the Mainland, and are considering a massive deployment from the mainland. So far we have maintained our positions on Ananto, and remain in control of the crest of the Mountains between Eveari and Kaliburg, but our hold on this landscape is slowly being eroded each day by a very determined foe. We will be working up contingency plans in case the Partisans and the Regulars lose any further ground which involve a massive influx of forces and materiel from the mainland, though they are currently being held in case Indrala or anyone else makes a move on our mainland Districts. On the good news side of things, we have reports from Dahriel that the Defenders of that city have pushed Indrala back into the mouth of the Delta and barring a significant change in that situation, are just weeks from forcing a conclusion to that battle."

Peace Protests continue on the Mainland, but protesters have begun to call for Kalistani victory in the war

Elsewhere on the mainland, vigils for Peace and resolution of the conflict continued, and have grown slowly over the years. And yet, the agitation for Peace on the Mainland is viewed stoically by Kalistani Citizens. "We would like for our Government to find a way to resolve the situation without bloodshed," said one Peace Activist. "But this is difficult, of course, given that foreigners control a significant portion of Ananto and have destroyed Kaliburg and Eveari. So we hope that the Government will find a way to remove this blight from our Island, once and for all, so we can get back to living!" The sentiment was echoed by other protesters, who have also said that the competing demands for peace and the exigencies of war have done much to strengthen their ties to the Society of the Brethren, rather than vice versa.

Confederation answeres the call to arms!
December 3993

With the Trigunians distracted in the Majatrian theatre and with the Hutorian invasion of the western islands of the mighty Trigunian Empire the Confederation has seen it fit to swiftly but silently answer the call to arms of their Vanukuan allies and their unofficial Hutorian allies who are allied by cause and not by treaty. The government has secretly messaged the Vanukuans that Opperation Pelican Domination would begin shortly after the navy departed the Confederal waters.

In the night of 13th december 3993 the Confederal navy left from Bálnaváros (Fluviului), Zyldavia province ((OOC: cities are named weirdly by my predecessors I realy need to rename them all)) with 4 Kuzak Class Frigates ((OOC: Type 22 Frigates)), 3 Blue Pelican class Frigates ((OOC: Romanian Frigate Mărășești class)) guarded by 2 Popesci class Submarines ((OOC: Kilo-class submarines)) and 3 Confederation class Corvettes ((OOC: Tarantul class)) who all are accompanied by serveral landing crafts who are transporting tanks, land vehicles, supplies and troops.

The navy set sail for Goniy Zamok and Cheva with the goal of gaining a staging ground from which to further invade the mainland. The navy was supported by 40 Yellow Pelican aircrafts ((OOC: F16)) and 10 Kizenian Eagle class aircrafts ((OOC: Mig 21)). The goal is to target and bomb strategic military and communcation points to prevent an early retaliation from the Trigunian army. The troops have been ordered to secure ports and airports as fast as possible so that the Confederation can send reinforcements and more troops and supplies through 8 strategic transport aircrafts.

The operation began as a harmless transport to the base at Endraland, after gaining the signal from the military high command from the capital they alterd course and set sail for Goniy Zamok and Cheva. The navy was ordered to bombard the mainland at strategic positions if a succesfull landing couldn’t be achieved unnotived. The airforce stood by in Endraland for a signal to start attacking and attaining airsuperiority and bombing the military sights and if needed cities of Trigunia to give the troops an easier march into Trigunia.

Many speculate that the Confederal move is cowardess, albeit sending a consideral force to Trigunia the Confederal army is holding much of its power back out of fear for a failure or an invasion from Trigunian allies. The Confederation has pledged to aid the Hutori invaders by sending 10 Kizenian Eagle class aircrafts to target Trigunian forces in the west whilest another 10 are send to scout and make sure to warn the nation for a return of the Trigunian navy. The nation hopese to secure the eastern island before the Trigunian army can retaliate and cut off the Confederal supply lines with its superior navy.

The Grey Pelican, the only and very outdated Aircraft carrier stationed in the south is ordered to attack any Trigunian ship that tries to sail north.

((OOC: I'm not very good at this, its my first time so be gentle ;), If you have some tips I would love to hear it, If i succeed is up to Max :P))

Battle of Mount Shmee

Though Indrala has suffered some minor casualties in run ins with Kalistani partisans, the Indralan ground forces from Eavari and Dulnerstaad pressed on to Kaliburg, the city now largely rubble. Given Kaliburg's dilapidated state, the city was expected to fall relatively easy, signaling a huge symbolic victory over Kalistan. However, in an attempt to completely eradicate the Kalistani guerillas and secure their rear, the Imperial Army met thousands of Kalistani regulars and partisans at Mount Shmee near the center of Ananto.

While superior in number and technology, Indralan soldiers were up against a foe in full rage, willing to do anything to save their homeland and expel the invaders, a feeling that is powerful enough to overcome nearly anything. Thousands of men died on both sides. Indralan deaths are around ten thousand, nearly one fifth the total number of troops sent to Ananto. The Kalistani death toll is said to be around the same number. After so much death, both sides made strategic retreats to their original positions, Indrala losing the ground it gained from its fights with the guerillas.

Now, the Imperial Army has called for reinforcements, especially after the retreat from Mount Shmee and the overwhelming odds that the troops being assaulted outside of Dahriel are on the brink of defeat. The Black Tortoise Fleet has also positioned itself in Eavari, preparing to defend the single largest remaining force of Indralans in Ananto and to protect incoming reinforcements. Things will not improve in Ananto until Indrala can raise troop numbers.

Trigunia attacked from behind.
New Endralon Invades from East; Trigunia declares war.
Image
An Updated Situation map of the Hutorian Campaign and the New Endralonian Invasion, (Blue=Hutori, Yellow=Trigunia, Purple=New Endralon)
21st December, 3993

And it seems that the bear is officially pinned down. Two front, to the West, the Hutorians, already making gains in their conquest to show that they have moxie, to the East, the New Endralonians, a puppet state trying to show its dedication to its puppeteer. Late night, under the cover of the Northern Darkness, the New Endralonians stricken the bear from behind, launching amphibious assaults on the Coastal City of Gorniy Zamok and Cheya. Launching the attack under the cover of bombardment and by Knocking out Trigunia’s early warning system and telecommunication poles. They attempted to blind the bear by knocking out her communications to her other dens.
But the New Endralonians made a massive mistake in their strategic moves. Instead of hitting her on her blind side, like Hutori did, they hit the bear where she the most Armor, The East. After the Hutorians invaded, the bear hauled all her assets to the east in Zarvospol. Her Artillery Pieces, Nuclear Weapons, Air-Defence Systems all positioned in the east.
As soon as the New Endralonian performed their daring beach assault on Cheya they were met with heavy resistance. The 4th Expeditionary Corps along with the 1st Naval Infantry Corps and the 1st Airborne Corps, a resistance force of 55,000 troops, clashed with the New Endralonians as the Battle of Cheya begun. With her Telecommunication outlets knocked out by the New Endralonians, a team from the 1st Airborne Corps, headed by Colonel Vitomir Dostovalov had to retreat from the front line in Cheya and headed to Sebenogorsk toward the 4th Naval Infantry Artillery Brigade who were reported to have had a Mobile Radio Jammer, which had capabilities of communicating with other online Mobile Command Centres despite communication towers being knocked out in said areas. They were reported to have used this to relay information of the attack to Air-Force Command, who later relayed that information to Trigunian Armed Forces High Command.
The 4th Expeditionary Corps, 1st Naval Infantry Corps and the 1st Airborne Corps are now fighting in Cheya with air-support from the 3rd Fighter Aviation Regiment, the 1st Mixed Aviation and the 4th Bomber Aviation Regiment where they conducted swift carpet bombing of the city as the advancing Trigunian infantry is currently fighting bloody urban warfare with the New Endralonians. It is reported that the Anantonese Sea Fleet is being recalled to the mainland to battle the New Endralonian Flotilla. After cruise missiles were reported to have been seen being launched from the sea, many suspected that the New Endralonians had naval support, which could be used as an answer to the unknown origin of the bombardments that hit Trigunia’s early warning and stationary communication systems in Cheya.
It is expected that the Anantonese Sea Fleet will release all its fury on the New Endralonian Navy and is also expected that TKVM-Vrosnok Supercarrier will fight to keep air-superiority over the east with assistance from the 1st Mixed Aviation Regiment and the 3rd Fighter Aviation Regiment. But it is suspected that the New Endralonians met little resistance in Gorniy Zamok, as the military has not position any infantry assets in the city, but one will know that once the counter-offensive on Cheya is going on, the Trigunians in the east are planning their counter-offensive on Gorniy Zamok. The Trigunians had learnt from their mistakes in the West and have applied its correction to the East, for it is too late for them to apply such correction to the West.

On the Western Front, the Trigunian lost the city of Morozorota. The Initial 80,000 force sent for the counter-offensive was divided by two, 40,000 sent to Morozorota and the other 40,000 to Heinrichgrad. The 40,000 man force defending Morozorota was simply bushed aside by a much larger Hutorian force and it is expected that they will head for Heinrichgrad. Many are stunned of the Hutorians are overwhelming the Trigunians in the cities. Many say that the Hutorian invasion would have failed if the Southern Military District was not on deployment. But there is much activity around the Sambov region, but we speculate that it could simply be a small reinforcing group for the Division currently holding Heinrichgrad. Those who survived the blitz of Morozorota, have been seen retreating to Heinrichgrad to join their brothers in what seems to be the last stand for Trigunia's hold on the West.

Confederal attack a succes

The initial attack on the two cities under the cover of night has been a succes with the capture of one Trigunian city in the east and the battle for another city in the east, Cheya. Although Gorniy Zamok fell without much struggle the battle for Cheya is still raging on with no progress for the New Endralonians in sight. The attack began with naval bombardments and airraids above the city to take out critical installations which hurt the communications of the nation. Secondly the transportships began to drop moble infantry attack vehicles and tanks unto the land to blits the cities defenses. After this the infantry was deployed to take over key strategic locations in the city and to occupy it where possible. Both these tactics were used in both cities. In Cheya this went less well due to the heavy resistance and the underestimated strength of the Trigunians. The heavy bombing of the Trigunians has also caused lots of damage and has halted the Confederal advance and a huge stale mate in the fight. Both troops are now fighting an urban war. To stop this the Confederation has ordered tanks to shoot at any building which could harbour enemies. The military has also ordered the 40 YP's (F16's) to aid in the counter bombing and gaining airsuperiority over the city before the Trigunian navy and airforce can send more reinforcements.

Seeing the invasion isnt going swiftly enough the government has decided to send 10 transport planes under escort of 10 YP's with soldiers and paradrop them in Gorniy Zamok with the orders to quickly advance using tanks, landvehicles and infantry whilest the remaining 10 Kizenian Eagles bomb the area whilest the ground troops are to be supported by Maradok attack helicopters (IAR 330) who are being send from Endraland. The plan is to attack the area quickly and to support the troops in Cheya. Until now no big resistance has been met in the area, though with the knoweldge of the heavy resistance at Cheya, the army is sure that the Trigunian resistance and counter attack will come sooner than later.

The Vanukuan army is asked to send their 15.000 troop to aid the New Endralonian forces who are trying to take the city of Cheya. The naval transport ships have been send to Endraland (the closest province with a port) to gain more troops and tanks to reinforce the army in Cheya.

New Endralonian invasion plan

Confederal Army advancing towards Stary Gautsky

After hearing the dire news of Cheya where the battle isnt progressing as hoped and with the new fresh reinforcements landed in the captured city of Gorniy Zamok the New Endralonian army is advancing towards the city of Stary Gautsky to capture it and move on to Cheya. The advancement went without much ressitance until they came to Stary Gautsky.

The battle began with the 10 Kizenian Eagle's bombing the cities defenses and with attack helicopters targeting military installations followed by the 2nd and 4th tank division and the armoured vehicles rushing into the city to take it in a blitz. The New Endralonian is desperate and has decided to move the armoured devision and the mobile armoured infantry transports ahead to capture the city whilest the rest of the soldiers march forwards towards the city. The Trigunians fought bravely and the urban warfare was hard for New Endralon due to not knowing the cities layout. The Trigunians managed to blow up serveral tanks and counter the advancement until the bulk of the army arived and forced the Trigunians to retreat into the buildings and engage into guerrillia attacks. Out of desperation the tank devisions and attack helicopters were ordered to attack any building where Trigunian soldiers could hide or were spotted, civilian casulaties fell rather quickly by the brutal tactics of the brutal Kizenian commander Constantinos Popescu.

By the evening the city had fallen to Confederal forces who now held the entire part of the island from Gorniy Zamok to Stary Gautsky. This caused a huge moral boost and overconfidance amongst the troops who are highly oblivious of the mighty Trigunian bear licking its wounds and preparing for a major counter attack. Generals at home are concerned that the lack of troops in the city indicates that the Trigunians have reorganised further north and will soon push back. Though not all generals are convinced of this and this causes the high command not to take a decision to either push forward or fall back.

When the New Endralonese attack came, it sent ripples through Hutorian High Command. There had been wide belief that the Trigunians would take the chance to launch a massive counter attack from Vrosnok. With them now dealing with the forces to the east General Ross took that moment to attempt to capitalize on the situation and shore up Hutorian positions in the west.

General Bishop's First Army completed the encirclement of Heinrichgrad. With II Corps holding the north and east while I Corps held the west and a detachment from the Fleet off the coast held the south the former Trigunian capital was forced into a siege. Cruise missiles launched from the fleet and artillery from the surrounding Army pounded the city and struck at hardpoints while the 3rd Fighter Wing flying from Rodshyadam ran bombing runs. HF-19 Twister ECRs and HF-20 Hurricanes strafed the city bombing military and government targets while HF-35A Blizzards kept a Combat Air Patrol around the city limits shutting down any possible air interdiction from whatever Trigunian air assets were left in western portion of the country. Combined with the Hutorians incredibly through evisceration of most air detection and defence installations throughout Radin it gave the Hutorians complete air supremacy over the city. While some of his commanders suggested beginning a general assault against Heinrichgrad General Bishop overrode them; he wanted to wipe out as many Trigunian troops before his own ever got anywhere near it and allow him to make his victory parade through Imperial Square...

Even with that on going the Hutorian campaign continued ahead. Detachments from the 3rd Fighter Wing had been dispatched to Morozorota and were now flying east, performing the creeping assault on Trigunian air defences west of Sambov. While the Fleet was unable to support the Air Force with their powerful Cruise Missiles the further east the 3rd Fighter Wing went the Air Force instead made up for it by heavily utilizing Black Lightning (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storm_Shadow) Missiles launched at extreme range by HF-19 and HF-20s punching holes in the Trigunian air screen, performing the same effective tactics that had allowed them to black out western Radin and Brakav during the opening waves of the war, while on the ground General Torrance's Second Army continued its blitz without thought under the cover of the air force, advancing east towards Sambov while the 15th Reserve Combat Brigade Group, a force of some 15,000 troops held Morozorota. Hutorian HIgh Command already knew that if it succeeded in capturing Sambov in the north and Heinrichgrad in the south there was literally nothing else Trigunia could do in the west and Radin would be completely at the Hutorians mercy.

On the flipside with Brakav entirely under Hutorian control and occupation Tirvoslavl became the home of the 4th Fighter Wing which performing the dual task of performing air strikes against Heinrichgrad in the west and probing Trigunian air defences in the east. On the ground the Hutorian Third Army which was serving as an Army of Occupation began looting the various cities, and in particular as any Trigunian Spy Satelites would be able to tell... making off the found Trigunian nuclear ICBMs which were transported back to Malchik and loaded onto ships and airplanes and brought back to Hutori.

Kalistani Forces react to near rout at Mt Shmee; President of the Republic reported dead

Regulars Flood in from Southern Ananto; Mainland Forces gear up for Deployment

Angry Mountains, Ananto

Indralan Forces blast Kalistani positions in the vicinity of Mt. Shmee early during the battle

In an all or nothing battle for the heart of Ananto, Indrala met the fiercest fighting of the war on the slopes of Mt. Shmee. Kalistani Regulars and Partisans from Xanadu and Dahriel arrived just in time to fight off Indralan Forces. Over four days of attacks and counter-attacks, Indrala hit Kalistan with all it had, and still could not fully dislodge Kalistani Forces from the mountain, and instead of capturing the Capital, Indrala ended up retreating back to the Blue Grass Valley to regroup.

The Late President of the Republic, Poppy Smith-Bennots, killed at the Battle of Mt. Shmee

In the battle, the President of the Republic, Poppy Smith-Bennots was reportedly among those who lost their lives on the slopes of the Mt Shmee. Her unit, set to defend a bridge over the headwaters of the Zappa River, fought a pitched battle, but eventually succumbed to enemy pressure and collapsed. President Smith's Fire Squad conducted rearguard fighting as the remainder of her platoon escaped across the river, and she was among those designated to blow up the bridge. Before she could detonate her explosives, an Indralan mortar landed in her position and she was killed immediately. Partisan forces returned to the site after the battle and held a funeral for the President, and her remains will be returned to the Capital as soon as the zone cools down. The Foreign Minister of Kalistan, Henrietta Allen, sister of the Hero of Dahriel General Henry E. Allen, who was also killed in the Battle, has been named Acting President of the Republic.

Kalistani forces, though still in command of the ridge line, were nearly wiped out, losing 3700 Partisans and more than 6000 regular forces. The Kalistani Government, at Xanadu, has called the Mainland command, and will begin mobilizing the remainder of Army Group North, in Vrassa, and Army Group Central for deployment to Ananto. Advanced elements of Army Group Central began arriving in Kaliburg, by air from Odufaray, and the remainder of the deployed force should arrive within the year. The Government remains conservative about the deployment nonetheless, still expecting an attack on the mainland, and the inability to draw troops from the mainland by sea. For now, the units will serve as defenders in Kaliburg, while regular units are rebuilt and Partisan units are reorganized in the Mountains.

The Remnants of the Kalistani Combined Forces survey the approach to Mt. Shmee, quiet now for the first time in years

The Acting Defense Minister, Colonel Current summarized the Pyrrhic victory: "We would have followed up the retreat of the Indralans back to Eveari, but our units themselves were shattered and disorganized. Years of strangulation by the Indralan navy have taken their toll on our defenses, and the proud men and women of the Combined Defenses really gave it their all. We lost nearly 10,000 combatants on that mountain in the last month, and the only reason that Kaliburg is still free is that Indrala has to be in the same shape as our troops. Our hope is that we can get our units together before reinforcements from Indrala arrive at Eveari, and they have a chance to regroup. If so, we can force a conclusion to this war."
