Earlier this morning, the amphibious corps launched an offensive in South-eastern Loren underneath the banner of Operation Peninsula Spear, thus opening another front for the Dankukin Armed Forces in-order to force the nation to split its armed forces' strength. With the initial phase of Operation Peninsula Spear (coined Operation Spjotskapt) currently underway, the launching of Operation Spjotsfalr is set to intensify the general offensive. The offensive had been launched by the 5 Brigades of the Amphibious Corps and the Joint Rapid Response Task Force (excluding elements from the Lourennais Armed Forces). Spearheading the initial assault is said to be the 5th Commando Battalion of 2. Amfibiskinfanteribrigade. Defence Command had not come clear on the general scope of numbers crossing currently in Loren, but estimated figures suggest 25,000+ infantry and associated armoured vehicles are said to be involved in the operation.
It had been reported by Dankukin citizens living in Loren that several Kazulian tanks had been spotted moving into the province the night before the amphibious assault had been launched, thus suggesting that the armoured corps had been positioning itself to support the amphibious assault in the event that it would be hindered by a Dankukin counter-attack. It has reported that a counter-attack from the Dankukin Armed Forces occurred on the beach-head as around 5,000 Dankukin troops rushed onto the beach-head. Initially confusion ensued as the Dankukins poured over the earthen ramparts and onto to the beach-head with their armoured vehicles as the amphibious assault was in its initial phases of securing the area of operation (AO). However, it was reported that these units were soon sent retreating after elements of the 2nd Armoured Battalion (the commanding brigade of the armoured corps in South-eastern Dankuk) rushes onto the beach in support of the amphibious infantry.
It is being reported that the amphibious assault is to be reinforced by additional mechanised support in the form of the 1st Mechanised Infantry Division, however their advance its somewhat hindered by the fact that mountainous ranges stand in their way. It has been proposed that the division be airlifted beyond the ranges and special mountainous units be sent into the ranges to "mop up" pockets of resistence. With the divisions of the west advancing deeper into the province of Eljang, the south-eastern front is expected to accelerate its drive towards meeting the divisions of the west at border between Eljang and Loren.
