Message from the President of the 2nd Great Democratic Republic of Lodamun
Lourenne attack is an act of war

Dear Citizens,
the actions made by the navy of Lourenne against our own are considered an act of agression and thus an act of war.
I have ordered our fleet to withdraw from their positions an stay at safe distance from the Lourenne Navy.
I have also ordered my Minister of Defence and Minister of Foreign Affairs to arrange a meeting with their colleagues of Lourenne, so that they can come up with some answers to this issue.

Update

Lourennais Ships are currently positioned in the northern and southern borders of the straits of Ananto. The 2 Lourennais fleets are NOT in Kalistani Waters. International trade has not been disrupted and Lourennais Ships continue to patrol and oversee the Anantonese Ocean. The Ministry of Defense is yet to announce the sinking of a Lodamese ship in the Anantonese. It is said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Ministry of Defense are looking for peace talks with Lodamum

Software malfunction could have led to international battle
President asks pardon

First results of the investigation show that a ship from the Lourenne navy was struck by a new MIL sea-to-sea missile during the live firing conducted by the Lodamese navy. Testimonies show that a software malfunction in the guidance system of the MIL 49-K SSM has caused the missile to jump to homing mode and targetted a ship of Lourenne that was 27 nautical miles away from the platform. While the shooting sector seemed clear, our navy underestimated the range of the new missile.
Once the missile was launched, connection was lost due to software issues and the ship's personnel couldn't do anything to retrieve the missile. An broadcast was sent on international safety channels, but it was too late.
Lourenne would have responded as an act of selfdefence, causing the loss of one of our frigates and 12 souls.
President Devis has officialy asked for a pardon and has promised to further investigate this matter. There has been a bid for all the parties to come together and meet and discuss the future. President Devis said that a solution should be found for the issues in the Anantonese Ocean, and there should be an international treaty to finally set the boundaries of different zones in the Ocean, such as the firing exercise area.

A Lodamese Frigate is destroyed by Lourennaise Aggression; Williams agrees to ceasefire

The Kalistani Foreign Minister, Orenthal Williams, stated this afternoon that the sinking of a Lodamese Frigate by the Lourennais Navy was enough bloodshed, and signalled his willingness to come to terms on a permanent ceasefire in the Ananto Straits.

"Lodamun was on patrol to help defend Kalistani ports and shipping during the Straits Crisis. They were not here to become targets. This crisis has gone on long enough, and we are interested in resolving matters once and for all. The Kalistani military is confident that with our soon to be ratified Trilateral Treaty, as well as the complete rebuilding of Kalistan's navy and military, we have once again returned to a key position in the middle of the Anantonese Ocean, and feel confident in our ability to defend ourselves from all comers."

Williams mentioned that he would accept any reasonable offer to talk. "Our hope is to settle this issue once and for all in a way that acknowledges the grievances of other nations while still prioritizing Kalistani National Security through the straits. We will be happy to talk and work on resolving these matters."

Williams also noted that the Ministry of Defense has called a unilateral halt on patrols on the northern and southern limits, and return vessels to protection of Kalistani Ports and Assets in the Straits. "Enough innocent blood has been spilled."

President Devis orders fleet to step down
Lodamun asks for convention to settle the situation

President Devis (2nd GDR of Lodamun) has stated today that the 2nd Fleet is returning home after a stay and a struggle in the Anantonese Ocean. She follows the signal of the Kalistani Navy.
Orenthal Williams, Kalistan Minister of Foreign Affairs, has expressed his wish to resolve the matter in the Anantonese Ocean. With the Kalistan fleet extracted from the troubled area, he shows he's serious. Lodamun has followed that same move and has ordered all of Lodamuns warfleet to return to port. The only military vessels left at sea would be those controlling the EEZ.
President Devis wants to see results soon, and has asked all parties to come together and discuss a solution to prevent such issues in the future:
"I would like to meet my colleagues at a convention to outline a treaty to assign several area in the ocean to the influence or under control of one or more nations. I would like to ask the Kalistan government to set a meeting on the island of Ananto, being centralized between the different nations. There should be a discussion on the Ananto Straight for sure."
Lodamun has also contacted the Lourennais authorities to thank their navy for their help with the search-and-rescue operation after the sinking of one of our precious frigates: "Ships can be replaced, but the emptiness in families hearts will never be restored. Yet the warm feeling of hope comforts us, knowing that their still is such a thing as galantry towards those in distress."

President Devis has called for a one-sided unconditional ceasefire, which should give all parties involved the opportunity to settle the situation.

McAvoy and Roose at peace conference in Valois
discussion to create a dureable peace started

Minister of Foreign Affairs James McAvoy and Minister of Defence Ahmad Roose have arrived in Lourenne to represent Lodamun at a peace conference.
Minister McAvoy will defend the cause of Lodamun at this conference. It is yet unclear what his orders are, but former statements made by the President indicate that Lodamun is willing to pay a reasonable price to ensure dureable peace in the Ananto Straight and the Anantonese Ocean in general.
