NEW MA PRESIDENT ELECTED

Cachtice: MA Member states have elected a new President, resulting in Kalopian national Miron Lazidis being elected unanimously by member states. The MA president will setup his administration in the MA building in Cachtice, working together with the elected MTAP in guiding environmental, trade and immigration policies. Lazidis stated that he seeks to put trade at the forefront for now, already preparing to meet with foreign nations to try and strike a deal similar to deals forged with Yingdala and Dorvik before. "Our main goal should be strengthening the economic position of the MA and ensuring that its member states continue to prosper, as hundreds of years without war on the Majatran continetn have been largely contributed to the economic success of this organization and this is a trend we must continue."

SOCIALISTS WIN GROUND

Image
OOC Source: Flourish

Cachtice: The Majatran Transnational Associative Parliament held its third election since its inception today, marking a big win for the socialist representatives. The conservatives still hold a edge of 53 seats over the socialists but the socialists won 72 seats compared to the previous election, with all other sides losing seats. While the MTAP doesnt allow parties or groupings several press associations have taken the time to categorize individual candidates into the Conservative, Socialist, Centrist or Radical columns, this time socialist candidates thus won a big chunk of the seats. This comes after just last week the MTAP ratified the economic agreement between the MA and Kitembo Union, marking a big step towards a more active and engaging MA on the international stage. The socialists have indicated that they would like to seek for opportunities of further intergration between Member states, creating a more unified power bloc. A formal proposal is reportedly already being drafted.

While the conservatives still hold most seats they no longer hold a majority, meaning that votes in the MTAP will look different from what we are used to.

Representative Qadim Afghani, elected from the 1st District of Kafuristan

Dear representatives. I hereby present a bill sponsored by 221 fellow representatives, which would seek to ammend Article 1 of the founding document. This ammendment would require a majority of votes in this parliament and a majority of member states approval. We propose the following:

Article 1 "Structure"
-A new position of MA President will be created, replacing the Chairman.
-The MA President is elected every 6 years by the Majatran Council
-The MA President is responsible for encouraging dialogue and cooperation between member states, being the representative of the MA abroad, proposing advice or proposals to the MTAP, chair Collective Assembly meetings and represent the wishes of all member states.
-A new body named the Majatran Council will be created
-The Majatran Council consists of:
The Majatran Councillor for Majatran Affairs
The Majatran Councillor for International Affairs
The Majatran Councillor for Development and Trade
The Majatran Councillor for Financial Policy
The Majatran Councillor for Tourism and Environment
-Every councillor will work on their respective portfolio's and may make executive decisions on their own if it does not require a MTAP of CA vote.

-Every councillor is elected by a majority of the Collective Assembly for a 6 year term
-The Collective Assembly consists of the HOG's of every member state
-The Collective Assembly may also: Veto MTAP legislation with a majority vote, issue advisory notes to the Majatran Council which have to be taken into consideration.
-The MA President and Majatran Council cannot be dismissed except by a unanimous vote in the Collective Assembly

Semag Zadian, Permanent Representative to the Majatran Economic Association

I am here representing the Republic of Pontesi, I have several questions: (1) Has the Majatran Association replaced the Majatran Economic Association in total? (2) What is the status of this organization? (3) Who are the current leaders, representatives, etc?

Representative Aron Hobli, elected from the 5th District of Deltaria

Representative from Pontesi, the MA has replaced the MEA in totality, all responsibilities and treaties attached to the former MEA have been transferred to the MA. The organization is still functioning although in a less active manner as intended. And representatives are elected through a direct election in a FPTP system within member states. Furthermore the executive council and other bodies also still function, with the current President of the MA being Mohammed Kadir from Kafuristan

The Republic of Pontesi is interested in becoming involved in the Majatran Association, we've recently ratified the Charter of the Majatran Association and are eager to start our involvement.

CONSERVATIVES JUST SHORT OF MAJORITY

Image
OOC Source: Flourish

Cachtice: The Majatran Transnational Associative Parliament held its fourth election since its inception today, marking a consolidation of seats for conservative representatives. The conservatives hold 300 seats now, just 1 short of a majority while the Radicals suprisingly gained 7 seats in this election. While the MTAP doesnt allow parties or groupings several press associations have taken the time to categorize individual candidates into the Conservative, Socialist, Centrist or Radical columns, this time conservative candidates thus won a big chunk of the seats. This result will mark a likely continuation of policies with the current Kafuri MA president also seeking to continue. Current things on the agenda for the MTAP and MA as a whole is stronger intergration with the MSO, trying to get Quanzar to join the organization and further looking for trade and economic opportunities abroad.

While the conservatives still hold most seats they dont hold a majority, meaning that votes in the MTAP will still have to look for somewhat of a compromise.

Goodday,

We would like to point the Solentian representative to the current active charter of the organization: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=8755#p157459
The MEA is no more, instead the MA replaced it, having the same economic principles as the MEA with the difference being the parliament that was created, the freedom of movement added and the new organization of the court of justice and the executive.
