Two Worlds of Élie Fournier
by Amélie Oyarzún

Five years have passed Alduria's own Élie Fournier has been elected to lead the executive branch of the newly reinstalled Canrillaise Empire. A leader of the currently, the furthest left-wing group within the Assembly of Canriile, the Environmental Action Group (GAE). Socialists achieved a coalition with GAE and therefore formed a majority to govern the Empire. Yet, it wasn't long until the Empire was facing major problems inside, this time in Alduria, Fournier's own country. Alduria elections have been under public questioning of integrity and transparency, as the ruling party despite losing, was accused of fraud in Bendérie, where the opposition The Socialist and Ecological Union won close to no votes, clearly differentiating from the nationwide tendency. Now, it was a clear first test of the Canrillaise unity and the strength of the imperial institutions, including Alduria's own Élie Fournier.

Canrille-wide response was united, but not to the completion. Obvious opposition from the ruling Liberal Party of Alduria, which was open to an investigation, but preferred states to keep their autonomy, despite facing complex challenges. As the Assembly was gathering to solve the issue, including Aldurian leader of the Seleyan Social Democratic Party, Benoît Marais, the President of the Canrillaise Imperial Commission was nowhere to be seen, usually avoiding the questions, preferring to talk about Canrillaise issues and problems, even though it was clearly the situation required an answer from an Aldurian holding the highest position in the Empire.

Finally, during the debate on the establishment of the Imperial Election Institute in the Assembly, Fournier spoke, keeping the diplomatic tone of the response, supporting the foundation of the agency, calling its formation and further cooperation with member states a "boon for democracy in the Empire". Obviously, it makes sense for the president to keep a low profile on the issue, but it certainly is complex to be the man trying to keep the empire together, while your own country suffers.
