The Jelbanian Knights of St. George support this.

Pope Blesses Dolgavan Crusade

Image

Pope Tomáš II issued a Bull blessing the efforts undertaken by Grand Master Abbot Metod of the Order of Saint Parnum the Thunderer in returning the heathen lands of Dolgava to the fold of the Holy Church. The Bull also recognizes the Order as an official monastic and military order of the Terran Patriarchal Church as the merger of all previous military orders. The Pápež promises eternal salvation and recognized martyrdom for all who die in this Holy Crusade, and the remission of all sins for those who undertake the perilous journey to Dolgava. The Pápež also granted the Order permission to exterminate heresy and pagan customs in the soon to be established Land of Saint Parnum, permitting the Order to create a Holy Inquisition to deal with Cohosi witches, Good Church infidels, and Luthoran and Eastern Hosian heretics throughout Dolgava.

Church joins Czarist War

Image
Papal militia in Dolinka

Having gained enormous wealth and influence as a result of the Dolgavan Crusade, the Church is naturally interested in protecting its interests, especially in Deltaria, its homeland. Although unexpectedly quiet throughout the years of civil war, even when Dolinka itself, the seat of the Papacy, was just kilometers away from the frontline, the Church tacitly supported the Czarist government of the Deltarian State. Now that the Czarist forces are on the verge of victory, the Pápež offered his blessings for the formation of a Church militia, serving to defend Church interests and property and fight for the triumph of the Czarist cause. Formed of local volunteers and veterans of the Dolgavan Crusade, including high ranking members of the Order of Saint Parnum the Thunderer, the militia's first actions are organizing the defense of Dolinka in the eventuality of a Republican attack. In spite of this direct involvement, the Pápež has repeatedly turned down voices from within the Church calling for the excommunication of Republican combatants.

Pápež Tomáš II Succeeded by Ľudovít I

Ľudovít I, the Church's first Trigunian Arch-Patriarch

Dolinka, Holy Lands, March 13 3493 - Following the death of Tomáš II after 74 years of pontificate, the Holy Sobor assempled in the capital of the Holy Lands elected Yaropolk Pavlov, a Trigunian Kardinal and one of the most widely known clerics of Trigunia. Born in 3416 in the Chadonia Oblast, Yaropolk Pavlov participated in the Dolgavan Crusade, becoming an Inquisitor in the Tribunal of the Divine Inquisition at the age of 21. In spite of his young age, Pavlov proved to be most dilligent in the eradication of heresy in the Land of Saint Parnum, earning the respect of the Order of Saint Parnum the Thunderer. With the end of the Crusade, he quickly progressed throught the ranks of the Church, becoming a Kardinal at the age of 46.

The election of the first Trigunian Arch-Patriarch is a clear manifestation of the Church's renewed dedication to her flock in Keris. Yaropolk Pavlov took the name of Saint Ľudovít, the apostle and patron saint of Trigunia and Dolgava, demonstrating that the Church continues her missionary mission begun with the Dolgavan Crusade.

Pápež Assassinated in Dolgava

During his visit of the continent of Keris, Pápež Ľudovít I was assassinated by a Dolgavan whose parents were tortured and executed by the Pontiff in his youth. Due to the unstable political conditions in Deltaria, the Holy Sobor has not yet convened to elect a new Pápež, and the Church is now officially in a state of nesplĭnitŭ prestolŭ (sede vacante).

Church Apologizes for Dolgavan Crusade

After the assassination of Pápež Ľudovít I in Dolgava by Dolgavan citizen and Crusade survivor Filips Ozoliņš, the Terran Patriarchal Church has been left in a state of sede vacante. Sources from the Church state that one of the reasons for the pontifical visit to Keris was the Pope's desire to apologize for his own and the Church's abuses during the Dolgavan Crusade. As the Pontiff was assassinated before he could carry out this task, the Holy Sobor has issued an official apology to the people who suffered at the hands of the Order of Saint Parnum and the Inquisition during the Crusade.

The Holy Sobor, in the name of the Holy Church of Iliya, wishes to tell all those who were persecuted for their faith during our crusade in Dolgava that we sincerely and fully apologize for all the abuses carried on by representatives of the Holy Church. It was our desire at that time to rescue Dolgava from the domination of pagan Manoush and restore stable governance and faith to the nation, and in that process many overzealous soldiers of Iliya subjected countless Dolgavans to unimaginable suffering, falsely believing that they were thus serving Boh. Later, when the nuclear explosion destroyed much of Dolgava, the Church took an active role in supporting those who were most affected, but yet again many deluded members of the Church saw in this an opportunity to impose our Faith on unwilling people. Our Church firmly believes that Faith should be fully voluntary and that compulsion should have no part in religious conversion. For that reason, we apologize for everything the Church did wrong in Dolgava.

In addition to the apology, the Holy Sobor decided to use the money received by the monasteries as compensation for the liberation of their slaves to compensate the families of the victims and all living survivors of the Dolgavan Crusade.

Although Terran Patriarchal Hosianism lost its status as the largest Hosian Church in Alduria in the 2150's, following the split of the Church of Alduria from the then TCC, there are still TPC communicants in Alduria. These congregations have recently formed together to create the revitalised TPC Bishopric of Alduria, using the traditional Deltarian rite in their worship.

Given its historic status as the protector of High Church worship in Alduria, the Jacobites look to this small community for support, and indeed 4 of our Members of the House of Representatives belong to the TPC, therefore we ask for observer status within the TPC organisation, and will seek to nurture and protect the TPC minority in Alduria.

OOC: Although we haven't had a census in 100's of year, I am looking to conduct one in Alduria in the near future. I'd imagine the number of TPC communicants would be very small given our history and historic Churches, probably numbering less than 1% of the total population, and consisting of a mix of Canrillaise/Harkonian and Immigrant groups.

Istalia is 25-30% Terran Patriarchal represented by the National Front Party of Istalia. It is the largest and only real Hosian population in Istalia. The largest concentration is on the Silicia/Sarregna island at around 40%.

Pope Concordus I elected by the Holy Sobor

Finally putting an end to years of vacancy in the seat of St. Mikhail, the Deltarian Men-Aside have stepped in to force the Holy Sobor to cease their quarreling and elect a new pope. The Czar's choice, Cardinal Publius Tullus Quintillus has been elected as the new Pope of the Terran Patriarchal Church, and adopted the name "Pope Concordus I". His stated goals for the papacy include bringing an end to the great and ancient schism between the TPC and SPC, as well as bringing other, lesser national churches back into full communion with the Holy Mother Church.

Pápež Wishes Terra a "Happy Saint Dragoš Day"

Image
Saint Dragoš, the god of love in the TPC Pantheon

On the 14th of February, Terran Patriarchal faithful Terra-wide celebrate the Saint Dragoš Day, honouring the patron saint of love and fertility. On this day, Pápež Tomáš III, in his yearly blessings part of this holiday, reminded his flock about the Hosian virtue of love, placing much emphasis on the importance of the traditional family in the life of true Hosian faithful. Pápež Tomáš warned the members of the Church that this day ought to be celebrated with purity and holiness, condemning the traditional excesses associated with Saint Dragoš Day. His Highest Holiness also stressed that, according to the teachings of the Church, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, masturbation, pornography, contraception, and prostitution are grave sins, advising prayer and self-flagellation as efficient methods to counter such temptations which are particularly powerful on this day. The Pápež also noted that those who have fallen prey to the sin of lust and have not repented before death will not be able to pass the sixteenth aerial toll-house or soul customs, and will thus not be able to ascend to heaven.
