Seongtaek Federal City — Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bae Yoo-bin officially launched Dankuk's candidacy for membership of the World Congress Security Council at a small event in the nation's legislative capital this morning. During her remarks, Bae emphasized Dankuk's respect for international law, peace, diplomacy and human rights. Moreover, the Deputy Premier highlighted the work of Permanent Representative Yi Hyun-woo in the World Congress General Assembly who has advocated for universal adherence to the Declaration of Natural Human Rights, as part of a broad initiative to strengthen the rules-based international system.

"For over a decade the Government of Dankuk has sought to be an active and collaborative member of the international community," said Bae. "Our commitment to the World Congress and to multilateral cooperation is unwavering, and enjoys broad domestic political support."

The Deputy Premier expressed that Dankuk, as a non-partisan actor in international relations, will assist in ushering in a new era of "long overdue" reforms to the multilateral system. Bae also discussed at length the responsibility of the World Congress to actively participate in assisting with the sustainable development goals of least-developed nations. The Dranian Federation's platform is anticipated later this week.

"As an elected member of the World Congress Security Council, Dankuk will stand with those who need assistance and help give voice to those who are not at the table," Bae explained. "We will be a constructive partner for peace and progress."

Once elected to the World Congress Security Council, Dankuk shall be a Partner for Peace, encouraging nations to resort to diplomacy and renounce offensive military action as a means by which to settle conflict. Dankuk will always respect the sovereignty of nations, and shall seek to pursue gradual, harmonious dispute resolution measures to ensure peace and prosperity for all.

As a Partner for Peace, Dankuk shall:

Recognizing that the World Congress is in need of long-overdue reforms, Dankuk shall be a Partner for Progress, working to streamline and reform the institutions of the World Congress for greater efficiency and efficacy. A more agile and decentralized World Congress System, in which responsibility for mandate implementation is aligned with authority to manage resources and in which policies and procedures are simplified, is the guiding vision behind our reform agenda.

As a Partner for Progress, Dankuk shall:

  • Reinvigorate the Terra Health International Authority by increasing its funding and opening offices on every continent within five years
  • Develop the as-of-yet undeveloped World Congress food and agriculture organization to eradicate hunger in the developing world
  • Ensure widespread inclusion in processes of World Congress decision-making by introducing a petition-style resolution drafting mechanism for the General Assembly, similar to that which was proposed in SC R53.
↳ Hold international conventions to draft future multilateral agreements and binding resolutions.
  • Streamline the administrative practices of the Security Council and depoliticize the selection of the Security Council President.
  • Initiate a total review of all heretofore enacted Security Council resolutions, and the nature of World Congress partnerships with international NGOs.
  • Review the funding formulas of all institutions associated with the World Congress System and audit the finances of existing institutions.
