Deltaria would like to welcome all MSO members to the organization and hopes that it will bring mutual security, cooperation and democracy to Majatra. To start of our work we would like to put something on the agenda that might not be a direct danger to Majatra, but could set a dangerous precident. Kundrati has recently enacted laws that ban all religion in the country. Deltaria believes this to be unnaceptable. Therefor, as the Security Council has so far stayed silent on the matter, Deltaria would like to ask its MSO allies if they would be open to the idea of enacting a series of economic and diplomatic sactions on Kundrati together as a collective to put pressure on its regime and make sure these anti human rights laws are repealed.
We would like to present the following motion but would wait on putting it to vote. First we would like a debate on the matter. Thank you chairman.
As chair of this meeting i approve the Deltarian request and hereby open the debate on resolution M.01
Once a sufficient number of member states have done their say the resolution will be put to a vote
The views of our Deltarian friends are entirely valid. The methods they advocate to address the issue are perhaps a tad too extreme. Kundrati's religious laws are an internal matter and do not in any obvious way affect our security needs. We believe that a diplomatic approach of persuasion would be best and must register our opposition to the proposed resolution in its current form.
This is a bit too extreme, the internal politics of nations should not affect the MSO, this is a defense organization, religion is not a matter of the Majatran security.
While we are dissapointed by the response from our fellow member states we see their reasoning for it. We would like to hear all member state opinions and will determine whether to withdraw the resolution or push it to vote. We thank the representatives from Barmenistan and Cildania for their response and will look for ways to defend the freedom of religion outside of the Majatran Security Organization
The Istalian Empire too, despite the noble intentions of this resolution, is forced to side with the colleagues from Badara and Cildania. Also Istalia is concerned by the measures adopted by Kundrati and we clearly expressed our position into the World Congress, however we have to recognize the fact that this issue didn't generated a security or military threat for Majatra and our countries. For this reason also Istalia would like reaffirm its intention to pursue the diplomatic path and would like express its concerns about the deployement of the deltarian navy close to the Kundrati water. Istalia considers this an unnecessary actions at this point which risk to ignite further tensions and exacerbate the feeling of the international community.
However, at the same time Istalia would like invite Cildania and Badara to consider the situation under other point of views: the current internal situation in Kundrati could generate in future several issues related to security which this organization shall consider.
And Istalia also think that in this place we can talks about common and coordinated diplomatic measures to be adopted, it could it also an opportunity to open a debate, a debate about democracy and citizens rights, aimed to a review of the current situation of democracy in the world, so to identify nations worthy of our friendship, nations towards which instead adopt shared diplomatic and trade relations.
We cannot accept a relativistic view of the international community and we cannot always accept that crimes against humanity are justified as "internal matters of other countries". These are crimes, condemned by the most basic and ancient international laws. Are you ready to trade and to have relations with criminals? This is the point, it is a question of ethics.
We understand the concerns of Deltaria and Istalia, however, this isn't a matter to be discussed here. If they pose a threat to Majatran security, it should be brought up and discussed, but we feel it is better to leave discussion of this for now, since even if it infringes rights of Kundrati, it is currently no concern to the MSO.
They have a democratic system, even if they pass laws that don't please us, they are a democracy and have the right to propose such bills. The people have elected them, and they have the right to pass those laws they have promised to the people. As long as they within the lines of democracy and are not a threat to the security of Majatra, we are in no way required or even supposed to interfere with internal politics.
Deltaria hereby withdraws its motion. We have taken action ourselves to send a message that freedom of religion, expression and media will always be respected and defended. We thank our MSO colleagues for voicing their opinions and respect these. Thank you chairman
