That's an interesting idea that I think is worth pursuing further. The problem about it, however, is practicality.

Plus people would squabble over who should get to "take it over" every time it gets reset (ie. what culture etc. it should have...).

Personally, I've always thought it a great shame that we don't have any African-themed nations. It would be next to impossible to establish one now because all of the nations have been Cultural Protocolled.

Well i dare say that the wiki wouldnt be affected if Wouter hit the reset button for the PT site. Nonetheless while Hulstria might have a grand and meticulously compiled history nearly every other nation in Terra does not have a useful history beyond say 3000 at the max or worse events stopped being recorded in 3200 for most nations. However i find that most of what people worry, at least to me is a second rate problem. Though a few people might go nuts there really is no reason to. First off no one cares what happened in the years before 3200, most no one brings it up in RP or at all except when reminiscing. Besides no one said we had to wind back the clock all the way to 2000 per se.
Since this is a VERY alternate reality we could play with time and events. It'd actually be really interesting to have say the Classical period last from 300 B.E (before Eliayu) to 1000 A.E and then a Dark age from then till the year 2000 and then have an enlightenment thing go up and so on so forth. needless to say i still support a Full Game Reset

Throwing my two cents in as some one who cares dramatically more about what happened pre-3200 than what has happened post-3200.
Just a bunch of shit.

That's too much care, right there.

It may not be affected, but it'd become (almost) entirely invalid.

Lots of people put lots of work into this. You may not care, but I think that they do value the effort that they have put into constructing their national histories, cultures and so on.

What I mean is: write all the important stories and carry them over as history.
We'd have a fresh start, with background stories from the developments that took place before the fresh start.

It's just to keep the stories. They wouldn't have that much weight.

Not my question. My question is could Wouter do it without everything breaking down?

Indeed. Solentia alone from 2400 - 3000 was, in my opinion, more interestingly played than most of Terra put together now, in my opinion.

I'm really indifferent to the prospect of a reset but I will say that I'd rather play in something new and free of obligations than in the shell of someone's old RP while tied to keeping their creation in place,

I think it's sometimes better to allow something to end rather than dragging it on long past it's day,
