The current flag of Egelion is based on an Egelionan flag, from 2429. http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Flags_of_Egelion That page was created, with the flag added, back in January 2nd and 4th 2010... I later updated it a couple of months ago.

Thus, you ripped us off, although we just see it as a complement.

The tricolour-scheme was first used by Darnussian Democratic Republic in late 2300's or early 2400's, so it was around the same time. It had a smaller eagle on it than the 2008 version that was adopted following the "200 years of democracy" or something. But the link to that original flag is long-dead ingame.

EDIT: The old Egelion flag seems to be a real historical flag of Chile, and I guess that is what was used as inspiration in Darnussia aswell with some color-changes.

And about the Chile flag: I'm not surprised about Chile since Egelion seems to be either Spanish or some kind of Spanish culture. However I can't be sure since there is nobody around in Egelion besides me (and the Egelionans should be happy I haven't made them more northern european yet), and the wikipedia has either no information or the information is a mess.

Nah, there is no need. The current flags of both nations are distant enough, and we are not intending to go back to the plain tricolor anytime soon so the massive Imperial Eagle is going to stay.

And about the Chile flag: I'm not surprised about Chile since Egelion seems to be either Spanish or some kind of Spanish culture. However I can't be sure since there is nobody around in Egelion besides me (and the Egelionans should be happy I haven't made them more northern european yet), and the wikipedia has either no information or the information is a mess.

So there could even be a ingame reason for the similiar flags as one of the aboriginal populations of Darnussia are the Lusitânians, ie. portuguese. Cultural connection maybe?

In Egelion we appreciate the spartan, the plain, the honest and gentle. You learn to appreciate life and the beauty in few by it. And yes possibly a cultural connection, we'll see what happens.

I think I'm going to change Egelion's flag now... So yes, The five sided star represents the five provinces, its inversion representing the shape of Egelion. Thus is has resemblance to the flag adopted in 2738 while it also has connections to the Commonwealth of Egelion, and the first flag used during the First Republic before them reverted back to a flag reminding of the first flag of Egelion, which is the tricolour.
