According to the player leading things in Solentia now, the Karav Dynasty is launching an attack on Solentia, despite it only being less than 5% of the size of Solentia's maximum possible military size. Did I consent to this? No. I'll blow it off as just IC propaganda for now, but it looks like a foundation for god-moding.

What this thread does remind me of is military strength. I don't think size should be the only factor in wars. I think there should also be:
- Culture (Defence Budget % of GDP + fanatical militarists faction %)
- Equipment & Funding (Defence Budget + One Tenth of Science/Technology Budget + One Tenth of Infrastructure/Transport Budget)
That's just a line of thought; they aren't specific suggestions.
Apart from the actual amount of money, the percentage should play a role when it comes on to the political culture of the nation.
For example, North Korea has a low GDP, but a significant percentage of it is spent on its military; even though its military is likely weak technologically, its culture is at least something we can pay attention to. Japan has a much higher GDP, but a very small percentage of it is spent on its military, and its military is well-funded.
Culture not important enough? A good example is the Vikings. Their equipment wasn't the best, but their fighting spirit made them feared.
I could pop all this in a spreadsheet/calculator when they're decided. Nothing complex, I promise.
