Splitting Beluzia

What do you think?

We split the legislature (for RP sake), where South Beluzia is aristocratic, and North Beluzia is republican: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=363998

Also, we set the law to assign military control to local governments.
From now on, instead of calculating the military with the national population and national fanatical militarist faction, we plan to use the populations and individual fanatical militarist faction percentages of the 5 regions.

The populations are available when you click the individual regions, but for our calculation, we just use the election map and update the military and paramilitary sizes after each election. The election details have the regions' populations as well.

Each region has its own fanatical militarist faction. I thought that it should serve a purpose in Beluzia, since we're so federal:

We leave military control to local governments. It's a nice experiment that's working well so far.

Seems an interesting idea. But how are you going to determine cabinets, and the HoG/HoS?

Currently, the in-game HoG & HoS are for the South.
The North has its own RP cabinet, and Rebecca Forstev was already recognised as its head of state.

What about bills and stuff? Would they only apply to the South as well?

No; they'd be like the bills in Euro-Parliament, and Rebecca Forstev can veto them in North Beluzia (by declaring them ineffective) if they don't have enough support in North Beluzia. I still have legislative power in North Beluzia through the Liberal Socialist Party, and the House Forstev still exists in the Union/South.

The Union, traditionally, is supposed to have 99 seats.
We used to have 99 seats, but we changed it to 165 so that the 3 southern counties (that are still in the Union) still have 99 seats and the North has its own seats (66).

Refer to this again to see the seat shares in each legislature: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=363998

Take this bill for example: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=363966
It will pass in both the North and the South.
In the North, it has 47 in favour and 19 against.
In the Union/South, it has 73 in favour and 26 against.

Here's another example: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=363965
It will also pass in both the North and the South.
In the North, it has 34 in favour and 32 against.
In the Union/South, it has 70 in favour and 29 against.

Evidently you people have sorted stuff out better than the Kafuris a few decades ago.

The Kafuris should have used our military setup. Thing would have been made easier.

Now that the war is over, we are drafting a treaty, to represent peace between the union and the new full-recognised North Beluz government.

North Beluzia now has a "Senate" which is the upper house of the legislature, as opposed to the People's Assembly which is the lower house. Information is on the wiki page. The Senate will be responsible for electing North Beluzia's HoS.
