Merry Christmas, CalF! I'd also like to wish everyone here a happy Christmas. Now feels a good time to tell people I appreciate them. Thanks to all the players in Dranland, where I play, because Dranland is in the most interesting and active phase of any nation I've participated in so far. Thanks to the Mods for all the unpaid work they put in. Thanks to other people who put in time for the benefit of the game, like Farsun who sorts out the wiki, Lukas who I think does things with the maps, and probably quite a few other people as well. And thanks generally to the players and forum posters who make Particracy interesting.

Earlier today I drank a bottle of port, and followed it up with a strange Japanese drink called "Sake" which smelt and tasted disgusting, but somehow or other I ended up glugging it down. Feeling a little groggy, and it's not even Christmas Day yet...

Talking of the "Bah humbug" attitude...during Christmas one year I was in a funny mood and decided I really couldn't be assed with wrapping up presents, so instead I presented everybody with a present wrapped up in a tea towel. That was much more rational and environmentally-conscious, I thought, than messing around with wrapping paper.

I hate wrapping presents and always make a mess of it. The thing is, if I wrap a present badly I get teased about it, and if per chance I wrap it well, people say "Who wrapped this up for you then?" Ggrr!
