We in Dranland are considering changing our national anthem because our current anthem is apparently a translation of the North Korean anthem and North Korea is well...ermm...not the kind of thing we in Dranland stand for. Any suggestions for a new anthem? And I wonder whether we have any creative/poetic types who might make up something for us to consider?

Hmm, probably not the best choice. Any reworking would have to be complete enough to render it no longer derived from it, because this is just so unanthemlike (I don't see that appearing in a dictionary soon).

The lyrics Afrocentric provided are not without potential. They include a reference to dragon, and the red dragon is the national symbol of Wales (which is one of the countries Dranland is modelled on).

Not saying that it's impossible, but I'm skeptical. And our national animal is the hawk. Also, it sounds like a love song, for God's sake. And it's not very well-written either.

BTW, if it's allowed, I would quite like to use the Welsh anthem. But with Welsh-specific references replaced with Dranish-specific ones, of course.

Our national animals is the hawk, and our national sport is tennis. Welsh is one of my favourite languages and is spoken in Dranland. Hmm...anyone got any lyrics involved hawks and tennis which are in Welsh?

This is a brain-storming session, EEL. We're not meant to dismiss any idea that comes up, no matter how stupid it is, because otherwise we might risk stopping someone's creativity/inspiration in its tracks :lol:

But seriously, yeah - you're right. Tennis is too boring - can't stand watching it.
