Stock Exchange.

Postby Farsun » Sat Dec 21, 2013 6:03 pm

I know that we had the Terran Stock Exchange or the International Stock Exchange but that was based on party performance and that was just a little eh for me. I was wondering if there were any nations that wanted to put some work into development of a stock exchange were people could list companies (may up to 5 to start) and a collective group could toy with prices in RP agreements to have a somewhat realistic economy thing?

Just an idea.

I would definitely support this! it'd be a good modicum to have some economic RP. we could rp a great recession of our own or somethin!! i know ive mused to Siggon before about creating some international RP structures for economics like a Bank of Terra or something so ya!

Alright, well that's plus 1! I'm sure we could use Siggon in this adventure! So I imagine when he sees it, he'll tag along.

I support this idea, but obviously I'm not currently in a party at this time.

I should warn, though, that this will probably require a thousand-page spreadsheet (and that may not even be an exaggeration :o) and very substantial deviation from the game mechanics. Plus, there's a potential for big fights - Keynesians, monetarists, Austrians, Marxists etc. will all try to make the economics model conform to their preferred school of economics.

I thank you for the information EEL. The best way to figure this out is the collective agreement perhaps tying each of these stocks to real-world companies and letting the market do it that way.

As much as I would love this, I have no clue how it would work.

Tying stocks to real world companies leaves this question: Would those companies have to be from countries with similar cultures?

I have no clue how this would work, or how it is supposed to work
