ABUSE OF POWER!

Postby albatrosinus » Mon Jun 09, 2014 8:38 am

In Gaduridos, there is a strong abuse of power made by the Conservative Party.

Let's explain :
there were three major parties : Labor, Progressives and Conservatives. Labor and Progressives were voting leftist laws and had the majority. When Labor inactivated, Conservatives started to repeal every law passed, decline every early election bill, ...

THIS IS TOO EXTREME! FORTUNATELY THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE 2/3 MAJORITY, JA JA JA JA JA!!!!
Who are you and why are you watching this?

That's reasonably common practice. I agree that it's a little dubious, but it happens all the time and I do not think that it justifies a particularly vigorous reaction/

It's a fairly low-life way to play the game, but people do it all the time. There's nothing you can do unfortunately.

If people get a kick out of exploiting loopholes and generally lack the morality to call for early elections when they're clearly needed, then that's something they have to deal with. However, he is under no obligation other than ethics to call for elections.

Here's a tip: do what other countries do and put in place a bill that requires early elections if more than 5% of seats are vacant to prevent it happening again.
Down with this sort of thing

And then there comes treaty locking. That is, of course, if it still allowed :)

Agreed.

My advice is to make some RP out of it. it's fun to be an opposition party sometimes.

So far as I'm aware, you only need a majority to withdraw from a treaty (which is bizarre, since a two-thirds majority is required for ratifying one). It's not really different from just passing a bill, except for the hassle and irritation.

Different goal - treaty locking was done to prevent other guys raising visibility, since all bills were locked.

Quite anal thing to do, must have patience of very patient man.
