Is it possible to change a nations name?

Is it possible to change a nations name?

Postby vickersvimy » Thu Jul 03, 2014 8:43 pm

I noticed that some nations used to be called different things. Is it possible to change the name of a nation?

Back in my day. The good old days. You couldn't change anything except the laws...

And I had to walk to school 20 miles uphill both ways... In the blistering snow!

Wait, what?

Luxury, We used to live in one room, all twenty-six of us, no furniture, 'alf the floor was missing, and we were all 'uddled together in one corner for fear of falling.

A room! You were lucky!

In my day you couldn't change your parties name - you were randomly allocated "Conservative" or "Liberal" at the beginning and had to improvise. Elections were Roleplay only - without any game mechanics. Flags were just colours - and most laws were about traffic control.

Back in my day, Particracy didn't even exist.

Yeah, it's true. Unlike many of these new players, I'm actually older than PT. :D

EDIT: Whohoho!!! 1000:th post! :)

That's nothing. In the real old days, we had to write our proposals on paper, mail it to Wouter, who'd then send us photographs of his computer screen (well, really his TV screen, since back then computers were just boxes you'd have to connect to your TV) where the new makeup of the country was outlined. And there were just two laws - one about traffic lights, and one about proposal quota.

Back in my day we didn't have the "internet", "texting" or even an Xbox. We had basic cable and all of the kids would go outside and play for hours and hours. You punks don't know how good you have it.

What a bunch of spoiled brats! Back in MY day, we didn't have paper. We had to make our scribblings on stone tablets. And Wouter wasn't even born. It rarely got more entertaining than beard jokes, which were strictly forbidden. In fact, "play" wasn't even a concept back then. We worked 18 hour shifts on the king's tomb and then daddy beat us to sleep.
But non of us ever complained, oh no we didn't.

Right...

I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.
Down with this sort of thing
