Are there still parties and nations out there that are willing to be involved in devious deeds, international conflict, and willing to be the bad guy?

I've just noticed a lot of focus on, you know, more joint military exercises or large continental unions. Which is good and all, but there is also some fun in stirring the pot and creating stories of powerful villainy.

Ooh, that got may way more excited than it should have.

Right now my two main ideas are some misguided, powerful coalition of nations (you know the whole "your government is corrupt and ineffective, our dictatorial leadership is the only way to ensure the former glory of the past is present in the future" sort of think) who start wars of aggression and expansion. It could be driven by some ideology, one influential leader, doesn't really matter. I just think it'd be fun. An added bonus is that it's also likely that a coalition of moralistic users will create an opposing alliance, and we could have all the espionage, proxy wars, and intrigue of a Cold War-like conflict, which is always kind of fun.

My other idea is that of a group of parties who are in league with each other but are controlled by some sort of Mafia or grand business interest. They ARE the corruption and work in secrecy across the globe to create governments that are more...accepting of their business. (Their business would, of course, include some sort of shady dealing like human trafficking or something of that nature.) Massive bribes are paid to politicians in RP, continental unions are rendered ineffective by Nations being unwilling to oppose some large multinational corporation that will lose them billions of dollars. Something along those lines.

Thoughts? I'd love to hear any other ideas and would really like to get the ball rolling on something like one of these.

For the first one, Polites had a great plan for a religious RP ending in a near apocalypse. Both sides are evil and do some very heinous things justified by their "God". Perhaps you'd be interested in working with us once we start it? Will probably be a few weeks.

It'd be far more interesting if you had one group that was super religious and evil and another side that was cynical atheistic and evil IMO. If that were the case, I'd be willing the head up the more "cynical, atheistic" side. Do you have a link for where you have been discussing this?

A while back, I and some other players made up The Brotherhood of Terror and Virtue. It was the shadowy parallel of the Monarchists and Pro-Democracy organizations that existed back then. All members were to be promoted to Leadership and all terrible things were to be happily attributed to the Brotherhood.

I'm thinking about bringing (or trying to bring) back The Brotherhood. The only real issue is, you need that straight man organization to play bad guy off of. Do we have any strong, UN/IMF/Peace Corp type international organization whose buttons we could push?

I guess you could consider the KFS to be an attempt at the IMF, and you could consider the AU to be the EU. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there is anything that is global, and the KFS itself is shady and it was started by people who were in the Brotherhood.
