I'm delighted to see all of the energy, enthusiasm and excitement that is going into this project, but I do have a few questions...and without wanting to put a dampener on this in any way, I feel it would be better to ask them now than later

As per the usual I don't mind questions and feedback.

activity during May in terms of forum activity will be King in helping me determine the ranks in June.

The period between the last rankings update and the next scheduled one is nearly 6 months (17th December 2016 to 1st June 2017). How fair is it to base the rankings update on RP conducted over just a single month period of that?
I was going to explain a little more of my method on Friday. However as it's coming up now; while the Month Long RP will have a big impact on my finalization of the rankings it is NOT the only thing I will be basing my final decision on. While forum RP will be King, espceially over the course of the next month, I will be taking other things into account. RP executed over the last five months for example will help influence how strong nations are going into this recession.

What about players/nations who have done plentiful RP over the 6 month period, but who don't take part in the particular RP project you are planning to organise for May?
As I said above RP conducted over the past six months will be having an impact on my finalization decision. This month long RP is meant to spark activity and RP which Moderation and the Global RP Team generally look for when justifying rankings. I have an initial list based on RP for the past six months, of nations that have done better then others; they will be on better footing when the RP begins.

Is there a case for giving fair weighting to RP carried out over the full 6 month period, and pro-actively soliciting feedback from the community about how to do that?
There is, though discussions like that can be just as heated and cause just as many OOC arguments. If I'm solicting feedback from the community on how I should judge the final rankings, it could start just as many arguments on the methods suggested. As I'm noting; I am taking all RP into account; the premium for RP over the next month is how well nations deal with a global economic depression. Nations and players who have been actively RPing for the last six month will doubtless continue to RP for the next four weeks. Those who haven't likely won't care or notice, though I am working with Moderation on getting the word out in game, and am creating an account in Game exclusively for the RP to assist players who don't use the forum as much.

How accepting will the community be of penalising players/nations in the rankings for not taking part in this one project
My argument there; in MMOs does game Moderation and administration penalize players who don't participate in major game events? No. Players who participate get rewarded with exclusively items/weapons etc. Same difference; players who participate get the reward of better final rankings while players who ignored it life moves on. My thought process has been; the players who actively RP and have been will have the incentive to continue to do with an ongoing event. Those who don't, PT will keep on going around them.

As I had said earlier; I was going to be releasing mote details on Friday, my arm was simply twisted lol (not a bad thing these are fair questions)

And this isn't even mentioning, of course, the predictable difficulties which big RP projects can encounter. They can end up coming to standstills over OOC disputes, or even just by a key player becoming absent at an inconvenient moment. Even if the RP itself is a massive success (which I hope it will be - good luck guys!), that doesn't mean there won't be disagreements afterwards about which nations emerged as winners or losers. In the context of the RP being planned, it would not be difficult to envisage it ending in OOC disputes about the likely consequences of different economic policies.

Aye this is true. This RP has the advantage in that, unlike wars where it requires move and counter move, economies can just keep on trucking. If for example if two nations were trying to work together on getting out and one suddenly stopped RPing, the first nation has the option to try another nation or simply work with himself to push forward. There are no counter moves to necessarily work with.

I have no doubt there will be disputes on the viability of certain economic policies but response will be pretty simple. The USSR got out of the great depression using communism, Nazionale Germany Fascism, the US capitalism. China solved it's issues via... Chinese Communist Capitalism? My point lol is that I won't care how your RPing, that your Role Playing will matter most. All efforts to fight your way out will work, as long as you can show how it'll help.

Please don't get me wrong here. I'm hugely in favour both of the RP event and the economics ranking, and I think its fantastic you're doing this...just I've got some questions/concerns about tying them in so closely together, if you see what I mean.

Yes I do and I understand. If I didn't want questions or wasn't ready to field them I wouldn't be trying this Haha.

Your suggestion is a note worthy one and there will be a three day delay which will help me slug through the mess.

Should you have any suggestions please throw me a message here or in my new Zardic Account.

On your final point, that ultimately IS the point; the ones who f8ght their way out of a depression and participate will be rewarded. I think the community who RPs actively are the one who will care the most. The ones who don't, likely won't care. But regardless I'll keep your thoight in mind.
