I'm done with being slandered and having my character assassinated by Aquinas, Lewis, Occam and HBulow.

Aquinas, the reason the decision I made was made is because I disagreed with CCP on the matter, my predecessor. I decided that the new WCRC under me would change the rules so as to disclude joke candidates. I didn't close the voting, CCP did, and I'm very sorry to CCP I went against his wishes. I chose to disqualify him and I could do nothing to stop the vote by the time I was in office.

Lewis, I did not have "two bad options", and I did not make a bad choice - or even a negative one.

Occam, this is not a clusterfuck. I have the authority over elections to the GA and to the SC for the presidencies. I am in charge of the rules and processing the candidates. Do not suggest that I was acting against anyone's authority or stepping out of my place.

HBulow, what I posted on the discord was a joke. The discord is not IC, and it is not a place of any sort of formality really.

It's very interesting that Edmund himself no longer cares about this situation, but everyone else seems to. I made a decision about a body that nobody seems to have cared about up until this moment. How many of you all complaining have ever actually RPed with the WC much before this? Because a lemur didn't win the election all this drama has to happen?

I hope that this response from QV73 satisfies your questions and concerns with the WC. This post sums up what happened. Please, move on now. We will have new elections in October.

Okaaaaaaaay now so are you seriously telling me QV73's post represents the official response of the GRC? Including those insults, daft claims & silly accusations?

I often wonder why Particracy Players get so upset when a fairly inconsequential decision doesn't go their way.

You must have a fairly easy life to get so upset about a lemur in a suit being denied the opportunity to become leader of a pretend international organisation, in a pretend game.....

OOCly:

Aquinas wrote:...snip

ICly, Noumonde, the 3rd world nation I RP, objected to King Julien XIII's candidature. This was a fairly predictable and logical move, given that King Julien XIII was claiming to be the real King of Noumonde, a position which is officially held by King Norbert. The disqualification was announced only 20 minutes after I wrote that post. However, at least so far as I am aware, there was no connection between my post and the announcement.

...snip

King Norbert.

Second son of King Ralph, no doubt.

I not once said this was an official GRC response, this is QV73's response (which is not full of insults, or accusations). To be honest with you, we all want this silly drama to end already. The WCRC gave you a response on what happened the day of the election. Accept what happened already and please move on. Like I said, there is another election in October, look forward to that instead of continuing this discussion.

If you don't think QV73's post includes insults or accusations then please explain, for starters, why you agree with her 1st sentence:

QV73 wrote:I'm done with being slandered and having my character assassinated by Aquinas, Lewis, Occam and HBulow.

Why do you accuse us 4 of being slanderers and character assassinators, please?

Sir, It's not your place to rudely Demand I "move on". I don't appreciate the bullying attitude of the GRC to anyone they feel chalenges their authority by just raising an issue they don't want to address

GRC owes apologies for behaviour of some of its members over the last few days. Not just here but Discord.

I say move on because it is time to let this topic go. There is no need to continue arguing over this. My attitude is not one of "bullying" as you say. My authority is not being challenged whatsoever. Plus, this issue was raisedand has been addressed MANY times.QV73 just addressed it to you above. This is no longer worthy of argument. As a player said before, you are getting upset over a man in a lemur suit.

What I am concerned about is the dismissive in fact downright insulting way myself & others were treated by GRC members for calmly expressing reasonable concerns about an objectively unorthodox decision (cancelling election when the voting is going on is unusual objectively). I can tell you right now, THAT'S the thing that grabbed my attention.

You rudely and arrogantly shouting me down and dismissing me right now is a perfect example of what the underlying problem is here.

It was made clear eveytime why tge election was cancelled. It is in from of your eyes. Not wanting to acknowledge the explanation from the WCRC is not because we are arrogant, insulting, or corrupt, it's simply because you don't wish to accept it or you wish to continue this useless drama.

Nobody has been mistreated by the GRC or insulted. The reason why I am telling you to move on is because nobody wishes to continue arguing about this. Yet, you continue to bash the GRC/WCRC/Mods without acknowledging what we have previously explained.

What we all wish for is for this argument to cease and move on. We will not repeat this again in elections in October. So please, accept the outcome as it was and look forward to the next elections.

That's not true, and I don't know why you'd say something so plainly untrue.

I won't say more on this topic because I believe it's unhealthy for the game to have multiple GRC members publicly addressing a matter of controversy and concern for several members of the community. Moderation recently created a Chairperson role within the GRC, part of whose responsibility is to speak on behalf of GRC in public consultations. The current Chairperson is Luis. My view as a player and as a GRC member is that Luis should speak on behalf of GRC and GRC members should relay their concerns to and through him. Therefore I won't say more in this thread. But it was important for me to set the record straight: I did not close the GA election.
