The 2nd Great Democratic Republic of Lodamun would like to send a delegation led by Minister of Trade Geofrey Walschot. He has been tasked by the President of Lodamun.
What legislators in Lodamun would like to know is what the others think about NSEC.
Should we expand NSEC and are we concerned about NSEC members who have also joined the Northern Council?
If we think about NSEC as a powerfull economic tool for North-Seleya and neighboring states in the future, we should actually consider making NSEC membership a exclusive one. If we want to expand NSEC powers, we should allign some clear borders. Treaties with other countries outside NSEC could remain possible in a few cases: or these treaties don't have any economical or trade articles, or these treaties should be applicable to the whole of NSEC.
We also wonder what would happen with some treaties like the one Lodamun has on Newport Haven. Our harbour facility charges less than a percent for the goods being handled in that port. Does this jeopardize free trade?
On military cooperation, the President is brief: he encourages cooperation between nations considering training, expertise and buying military equipment in common pool. On the other hand, it might seem challenging if NSEC would have a thorough cooperation that covers all of the signatories. Lodamun is in favor of support to these nations that wish to cooperate on certain military issues, but to keep the main core of the military in hands of each nation seperately.
On trade, the last few decades the people of Lodamun have tried to expand the trade with other nations, and we hope NSEC will bring better cooperation between the signatories and between NSEC and other nations and/or organisations.
