RP Idea: Migrant's Pass Crisis (Malivia)

Intro

A geopolitical crisis in the Migrant's Pass, the body of water between the continents of Artania and Majatra. The Migrant's Pass has been a point of contention in modern history for almost 200 years, especially after the MSCO organised security cooperation in Majatra during the 54th century. From recent events, those most likely to be affected and/or involved are Luthori, Narikaton & Darnussia and Beiteynu - and by extension the AU, MSCO and Vamaj Network.

Origins

- November 5426, AU/MSCO negotiations fail
- ????, Malivia attempts to blockade AU nations in the Migrant's Pass
- ????, Rutania escorts commercial vessels
- ????, Rutania escalates issue to the Artanian Parliament
- April 5427, Deltaria dedicates more forces to MP-NG and Beiteynu

Plan

01. Malivia hires pirates in the Migrant's Pass (against Artanian ships) and extremists to disrupt domestic peace in Luthori
02. Luthori apprehends these extremists and thwarts attempts
03. Malivia builds up with an extremist leader (a statesman, people's person)
04. Links between extremists/pirates and Malivian Government are discovered
05. Luthori investigates
06. Malivia allows investigation grudgingly
07. Malivian popular leader elected and turns country into a dictatorship
08. Investigations begin against Malivian dictator for money laundering, corruption and domestic violence in Malivia and Luthori
09. Malivia engages in armed conflict
10. Malivia loses
11. Malivian dictator seeks asylum in a foreign country

Actions/reactions:

- I will RP as part of Beiteynu's government and Beiteynu's shipping industry.
- I will RP against Artania at every turn to show the lack of cooperation and the AU's failure.
- I will RP against Beiteynu and Luthori by spreading energy distribution (Vamaj) away from Luthori and Beiteynu.
- If any bullet is fired in the Migrant's Pass (not just pirates)
-- I will RP Beiteynu deploying most of its navy, blocking and warning non-MSCO and any forces not coordinating with Beiteynu to stay away.
- If Luthori or Kundrati (and those involved who have signed the Beiteynuese Framework of Diplomacy) do not cooperate with Beiteynu
-- I will RP Beiteynu terminating existing level of relations (i.e. mutual defence pact).

Goals:

- To dissolve the AU and have it be replaced by a smaller org like the MSCO, or force the AU to form a smaller org like the MSCO.

Questions:

- How will the story become an armed conflict on point 9 of the plan?

Consent:

- I do not consent to the complete meltdown of maritime trade in the Migrant's Pass.
- I do not consent to Malivia being completely destroyed and/or under the thumb of another nation.

Actions/reactions:
-I'll RP from the perspective of the Narik&Darnussian government and to some extent the affected economic branches.
-I'll defend our economic and political interest which is unhindered trade through migrants pass.

Goals:
-Protection of AU interests (establishment of an economic zone) which in turn would probably be very profitable for N&D's shipping and diamond industry.
(Honestly just making money)

Actions/reactions:
- I will roleplay from the perspective of the Kundrati military and government (unless jebjab wishes to roleplay either or, I'm willing to work together with him on this)
-- Kundrati will send ships (likely our entire Southern Fleet) to the Migrants Pass and the Malivia area, and will send air assets to the general area as needed
--- Kundrati will attempt to shoot down any pirate ships they find and take prisoners, but they will explicitly be forbidden to fire at MSCO/Beiteynu ships unless and only if they are fired upon and after a warning to do so is done beforehand
-- Kundrati will also attempt to work with Luthori, Rutania (possibly) and other countries in Artania in order to show Artanian unity and have them provide some military units to this end

Goals:
- To attempt to preserve the AU
-- Failing that, to attempt to show Majatra (and Terra) that there is unity in Artania

Consent:
- To be done on a case by case basis regarding attacks on Kundrati navy ships or air assets if attacked by the MSCO/Beiteynu
-- No consent on any Kundrati naval ship being sunk
-- Consent on any Kundrati air assets being shot down if agreed to beforehand
- No consent on having this conflict spread to the Artanian Sea or areas north of the Migrants' Pass

The approach of the Vascanian government to the crisis would be to do whatever possible to frustrate the interests of Artanian countries, Beiteynu, and Lourenne while balancing this against the need to maintain cordial relations with these countries. For cultural and historical reasons, the Vascanian government perceives Malivia as a natural ally and would try to support its government where feasible.

Goals

Restore national prestige and advance Vascanian interests abroad- without damaging important economic relationships.

Questions

What is the overall objective of this role-play? Who is invited to participate? What timescale will it happen across?

Consent

I am only willing to consent to specific proposals where these are brought to me in advance by relevant players. I am not willing to offer any kind of overall consent at this stage.

Detaria has obligations under the MSCO such as a mutual defense pact should a member be outright attacked.

The MSCO forces are at the moment under Deltarian command and their mission includes free flow of commercial shipping through Migrant's Pass.

Goals

Deltaria does not really have much interest at stake here. High chance we will get drawn into this. Our goal is to stay out and not pay for new initiatives.

Preserving the MSCO is important in fact it is at heart of Deltaria's national security policy. It is recognized that an MSCO member could go on a frolic of its own and doom its continuance. Deltaria will do what it can to avoid this outcome knowing that ultimately the misconduct of others is beyond ts control.

Do not think a hyperaggressive belligerent will be getting much aid to rebuild after annihilation from us even under supposed nicer leadership.

Questions

Wonder how realistic it is to RP Malivia manipulating extremists in Luthori. #1. Raising question because I just don't see it.

Also, on #9 really don't have much understanding of which nations might agree to be involved and whether by sea only.

Consent

Not consenting to anything in advance.

As to not consenting, do not consent to any naval forces acting under MSCO orders to fire on ships that are not firing on them or pirates or terrorists interfering with maritime commerce. Should a mutual defense compact compel such action, that force will officially withdraw from the MSCO task group at least simultaneously giving proper notice.

Actions/reactions:

- I will RP all parts of Rutania's Government and Military, I will also be responsible for Rutanian Trade.
- I will RP against Malivia for their lack of diplomacy and the Irony of their commissioner being responsible for Food Security.
- I will RP in support of Luthori at every step, in its current form Luthori constitutes Rutania's biggest and closest ally.
- Rutania has already committed a naval detachment to the Migrant's Pass and thus should any Rutanian Trade be disrupted that would be retaliated.
-- If Pirates interfere with trade they will be dispatched and Malvia will be held accountable for creating an environment for Piracy to thrive.
-- If Malvia or any other nation attempt to stop or turn back any of my trade vessels they will receive 3 cease and desist warnings from HMS Aerdred before being engaged.
-- In addition, I will be RPing that my new security service is to set its sights on Malvia for a more concentrated information stream.
- I will continue to RP my diplomatic actions against Malvia including within the AU.

Goals:

- To present a new image of Rutania to the world.
- To seek resignation of Malvia's AU Commisioner
- To consider place within the AU.

Questions:

- I echo the questions regarding point 9 of the plan?
- Also ask as the populist leader isn't elected till point 7 but the crimes he is investigated in in point 8 happened before he was elected in point 1 and 2

Consent:

- I do consent to Rutanian Ships being attacked If war is the option chosen, and I get a cool reaction.
Everything else must be consented after planning imo.

Noting that this RP is not going to move forward, as Malivia and Luthori are essentially the point states and Luthorian players have mostly expressed no interest in taking part in this arc. Thank you all for the time and effort!

I can't be the only one who this is confusing, I thought we weren't doing this RP. Are we or aren't we ignoring the fact that this RP was started? because if we aren't I will continue with my diplomatic rp.
