Beiteynu (L5)
STATEMENTWith regards to the ongoing tensions between Beiteynu and Luthori on the matter of the Baruch assassination.
As an independent international authority established in 4 sovereign nations and operating in more than 20, we are under no obligation to release any information on past and ongoing intelligence efforts, especially those concerning the international security of our partners. After discussions with the PM of Beiteynu Yaron Tzafrir, consolidation with the Agency's Deputy Director in Istalia and careful consideration of the issue with the rest of the Agency's leadership, we have reached a consensus on releasing some of the information and forwarding the investigative details to specific authorities, with the purpose of helping diffuse and de-escalate a potentially threatening situation for our partners.
Agents from Malivia, Tukarali and Beiteynu located in the Southern Majatran region,
consolidated with the GID of Kafuristan on the increase of monarchist activity in the Southern Majatran region, as reported by the GID's Directorate 4. The Agency began an investigation of 3 individuals from Beiteynu, linked to both the GID report and to terrorist cells in the Southern Majatran region, with suspicious assets and cash movements to persons of interest in Kafuristan. Shortly after the commencement of the Agency's operations related to said activity, then General Director of the Agency Baruch Lea Tzafrir's body was discovered at a location that, for matters of international security, we cannot disclose at this time.
Autopsy confirmed cause of death was a direct gunshot wound to the head, in close proximity.
A 3647-page document by the Agency includes the results of the autopsy, the ballistics report, DNA and fingerprint analysis of the crime scene, the reports of investigative agents on the scene and a detailed analysis of the
manhunt that ensued. The document and its addendums has already been forwarded to the MOJ of Beiteynu and was used in the closed-doors trial of the later apprehended individual who was found guilty of the assassination. We will be forwarding the document and its investigative details to the WC Ambassador and Representative of Beiteynu to the SC Ariel Tzafrir, the Deputy Directors of the Agency from Istalia, Likatonia and Selucia and to the government of Luthori itself, pending the approval of the HOG of Beiteynu. For security reasons, the names of the agents, persons, and officials highlighted in the document will be redacted, to ensure the integrity of the Agency's worldwide intelligence network.
The 3 individuals from Beiteynu linked to suspicious activity in Kafuristan were eventually linked to a terrorist cell located in Istalia and a private corporation in Lodamun. The document includes the details of the surveillance and the information gathered. Agents in the field eradicated the cell in Istalia and apprehended 11 individuals who were released to the authorities of Istalia. The report includes information on the interrogations, testimonies and filed reports by police officers and investigators from Istalia. These efforts bore fruit to the testimony of one individual, who linked details and information to 2 individuals associated with the previously discovered private corporation in Lodamun. Both individuals were apprehended - the details are of course included in the document.
Subsequent investigations and the review of the intelligence confirmed that all apprehended individuals, the 3 in Beiteynu, the 11 in Istalia and the 2 in Lodamun, had ties to reported monarchist activity traced by both the GID of Kafuristan and the TRA of Beiteynu. These individuals were found to have ties with other nationals from Luthori - family members, friends, who were currently residing in Luthori and were visited by these individuals at various points in the past.
Cash movements from Lodamun led the Agency to the prime suspect, who was at the time of the investigation located in Malivia. In conjunction with the authorities of Malivia, the individual was apprehended and his - what appeared to be temporary - residence was raided, where agents discovered the gun that eventually matched the initial ballistics report. DNA and fingerprint analysis was later deemed inconclusive. We also uncovered a government issued ID by Luthori matching the individual, which was later confirmed by a bank located in Luthori as valid, as the individual maintained a checking account which seemed to be linked to transactions pertaining officials from the government of Luthori - the investigation by both the Agency and the MOJ of Beiteynu was however halted, as we couldn't proceed further due to hindrances in jurisdiction and diplomacy (the rising tensions). Video surveillance and records provided by Malivian airport authorities showed that the individual had travelled frequently between Luthori, Malivia, Lodamun and Kalopia. Intelligence in Lodamun revealed that the individual had been in contact with 1 of the 2 previously apprehended individuals in Lodamun, at least on 2 occassions.
Again, details of the above are included in the 3647-page document.
