Guiding the RP

Hello everyone!

With the recent uptick in activity - which is frankly epic to say the least - there's a new section on the forum under Moderation called Guiding the RP that is primed and ready to test out an idea of questions and answers. All players are encouraged to give it a try if they have absolutely any questions about anything related to the roleplaying (RP) aspect of the game. Members of the RP Committee and Moderation alike will attempt to provide helpful and guiding answers.

Please note that this is merely an idea being tested out for the time being; we'll see how it goes and take it from there.

Off-topic

Hello everyone.

The off-topic section in the forums has been archived and disabled, until further notice. This update comes in alignment with our ongoing attempts together with the RP Committee to bring a sharper and clearer focus on the game itself. An update to the Game Rules, in terms of simplicity and clarity and not on changes to the actual content, and an update to the Dynamic Rankings to include a more dynamic nature for roleplaying are underway.

While we do not have a set timeline on either, rest assured, both will be provided for feedback by everyone.

Game Information

The Forum-Based Countries Information thread under Game Information has been slightly updated to increase the ease of use both for players wishing to discover information on FBCs, as well as for frictionless upkeep by Moderation. Latest update is depicted on the thread's subject (ex. Oct 8, 2023).

Dynamic Rankings

After some very exciting discussions, ideas and reviews within the RP Committee and Moderation, we've reached the final stretch in updating the current status of dynamic rankings as well as upgrading their composition; hopefully to provide more elasticity and flexibility in creative roleplay for players.

Our aim is to get the update up by October 22, but that is, of course, not a strict deadline by any means.

We will be releasing the update(s) in the coming days for feedback.

Hub

The Key Information thread which appears on every section and contains useful information and links on the game has been 1) renamed as Hub and 2) upgraded in layout to become even more user friendly for new and veteran players alike.

A short pause on requests

Quick update for those not on the Discord Server or unfamiliar with the current situation, requests are on temporary pause for the time being due to the ongoing transition. Please feel free to submit them regardless and we'll get to them as soon as possible.

Updating the Real-Life Equivalents

Over the next couple of weeks, the Role-Play Committee is planning to update the Real-Life Equivalents Index to reflect various changes in cultural protocols and role-play over the past few years. Although we will try our best to be comprehensive, it would be helpful if players could share details of any real-equivalents that should be added, removed or updated. If you have any suggestions about how the index could be improved, please share these too.

Requests management back in order

Hey all. As the transition has been completed, all requests have been handled. We will continue to handle requests in a timely manner, from now on. Keep in mind that we will also introduce some updates pending a new system where the RPC will also be directly involved in some of them.

We'll keep you all posted; goal is for these changes to take effect before Dec 22 and the holiday season.
