Greatest Particracy Moments.

Postby Barnwood » Thu Jun 25, 2009 7:15 pm

I have been a member of the Particracy community now for over two years and in that time I've read many a funny thread and many a well thought out and well written roleplay, witnessed the writing of the Athlorcaea Accords and played the short lived yet incredibly enjoyable and amusing Particracy Warring States.

If I tried to name all of the threads which I found amusing, all the roleplays which I thought were well thought out and well written and all the actions of certain members which I felt really accomplished something, this post would be longer than Ron Jeremy's dick after he's just taken some of that spambot's 'ultra-strength' viagra.

I have posted links to just three of my favourite Particracy moments below, I would love to read yours.

http://www.takeforum.com/particracy/vie ... particracy
(The Athlorcaea Accords helped put an end to the petty squabbles between several countries and alliances over godmodding, and generally made war RP fairer and more realistic).
http://www.takeforum.com/particracy/vie ... acy#150193
(Whatever you may say about DoubleM, you cannot deny that the personal attack on Will that got him banned wasn't funny).
http://www.takeforum.com/particracy/vie ... particracy
(The Terran Football World Cup has been a constant for hundreds of years, stopping only for one forty five year break a while back. This thread started it all off).

I am not so long around, so maybe my choices are not The Greatest, but it is the best I saw/experienced.
I was not involved
- Rise of the NWO
I was involved (in no particular order)
- Baltusian State of Porn and Destruction - I miss Satyr awards ;)
- Chaos in Gaduridos - first appearance of Dusty Knights
- Rise of the GPO - had a lot of fun taking different nations and cultures, starting with Kalopian Gay Queens, ending with Terran Caliphate
- Rise of KCCP II - was my first RP in Particracy

As a non-English person I tend to read egoistically only those posts that have something to do with my nation or alliance, therefore maybe I have missed something worth attention.

Speaking of DoubleM, what about that thread he banned commies from back in the days of the first KCCP? You know, the one where your hamster defected?

Good times :P

Ah, yes. I'd forgotten about the 'Anti Commie' thread. Classic. I remember I spent ages working on that Judge Dredd image, only for it to break. And because I was tipsy it made my post sound like an eight year old had written it. Good times indeed.

It seems to me that good times are just a thing of the past. Unfortunately, people don't have the same excitement they used to have a year ago, or many ages ago, whatever. But I can say for sure that the Baltusian Porn State was the funniest thing I have ever seen. The folks behind the idea must take credit for that.

Nowadays we see things like irrational quarantines, and occasionally the alliance bugging thing.

George, to the naked eye, that last comment (irrational quarantines) may seem to mention me.

I would say that Particracy has developed into a more mature role playing game. Perhaps, even more bureaucratic.

and Mr. Yankees, are you implying that more bureacracy is a form of maturity?

No, yankees is wrong. Particracy has developed into booring roleplaying game. And everything that is not booring is usually stupid parody that is not even funny.

There really has been nothing interesting since nwo died and you guys banned steve-o. (Yeah, his roleplay sucked bigtime, but atleast he and his crew were doing something interesting.)

Good thing Barnwood is back though, I hope he has some megalomaniac plans as he used to have to spice things up.

The best thing here is Molotov's drunken rants, and there is no way I would say this out if I hadn't been drinking tonight.

Quoted for truth. People take particracy too seriously these days.

Edit: although, on a slightly more positive note, anybody remember the good old days of Dranland? Show some respect for the Scientologists and the Welsh genocide :P

This conversation reminds me of a bunch of guys sitting in a retirement home bitching about today's youth and fondly remembering 'the good ole days' that actually never existed.
