The Westminster system works differently in Canada and the UK than it works in small Caribbean states.

How so? Do you mean independence wise?

In the Caribbean, party leaders are almost worshipped. Politics in the Caribbean almost entirely surrounds the personalities of the party leaders, as other members of the party are ignored. Party members in the Caribbean are also less likely to go against their party leaders, because of the small size of our parliament in comparison to the size of the parliament of Canada or the UK.

Today is Indepedence Day for St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The guy I'm in the picture with is the Prime Minister.
Their legislature has 15 elected seats. In their last election, in 2010, the seats were split 8-7.

All government MPs are a part of the cabinet in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It is less likely that they will go against a government bill.
On the other hand...
- less than 25% of Canada's government MPs are in the cabinet
- less than 7% of the UK's government MPs are in the cabinet

It is much more likely that a Canadian or British MP will stand up against their own party's government than a Caribbean MP would.

I really wish we would have had something like that when I was in school.

It's awesome! It's like Particracy in person, but you're an individual instead of a party.
