I'm some sort of ecologist-oriented conservative inspired by both distributism (which you probably have never heard of... ) and classical liberalism.. except the later's anthropocentric perspective ofc...

I also dislike the EU, though in my country people with such opinions can be found in pretty much any place. Think we Nordics have a different take on that than central Europeans since it kinda developed in an entirely different context where for example Christian Democracy is the main centre-right tendency..

You're starting to sound similar to me,.. or is me who is becoming more like you?

Since you're inspired by distributism and liberalism, what do you think about Geoism? I think it's the best way to apply the economic principles of distributism in a modern economy. The LVT (especially when combined with a Citizen's dividend) naturally leads to a wider distribution of land ownership as well as reducing inequity overall, and because small farmers and homesteaders would no longer pay rent/interest to landlords/banks in addition to paying taxes to the government, it would be a huge boon to the countryside and to local economies. And it would do this without a huge bureaucracy with quotas and subsidies and whatnot, and is compatible with classical liberal ideas of property rights.
It also ties in nicely with the distributist opposition to usury in that the banking system goes hand in hand with the real estate market.

Thanks for a good read! Like it a lot. One of my biggest concerns with the economy today, whenever 'left' or 'right' is how politicians and big business work together for their own benefit without anybody else really having a say or understanding what's going on, such as creating loopholes by design to have money move to certain places (like right now in our country, the super-rich invest in real estate because it isn't taxed etc.). A lot of politics today is really centred around something that's really collectivist elitism at it's worst, at the expense of the civil society. I've felt for some time now that some kind of simple/'fair' tax is needed to get rid of all that, and this seems like a really good way of doing it.

You're a pagan right? As you know, I'm technically Catholic but I haven't been practising for years. Kinda interested in the Vedic tradition. My Dad and I used to go to the Hare Krishnas for free lunches since we're both vegetarian and perhaps that had an effect on me. Are you familiar with Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya?

Yes, I've seen some interviews with him. Been wanting to read the Dharma Manifesto since I read a review of it on the infamous Motpol.
