Oh God, forget the film! The film was a disaster! Have you never read the book? Next you'll be telling me you've never eaten boiled potatoes.

There have been and will be better movies, but it was really good, I'll give you.

The film was one of the most appalling things I have ever seen. Not that it was bad, you understand. It was perfectly serviceable. It's just that when you're working with some of the funniest source material ever, producing a film that's merely good just doesn't cut it. The radio series and the books are the only versions that count.

I don't read many books. I don't think I have eaten boiled potatoes, do they taste anything like baked?

Why don't you get out? (Sounding like Tommy Chong on That 70's Show)

The film wasn't that bad. Sure it was a bit simplified, but what do you expect?

AngryMollusc had it spot on. The film was okay, it might even have been considered quite good, if it were released on its own merit. They didn't make the best of the material they had, though, did they.

Not really, but to be honest, I've seen much worse adaptions of novels into film.

I sympathize with my brother, who saw the movie at the same time, and told me he was sickened by the movie's equating "The Answer" with love. (When it's quite clearly six multiplied by nine, written in base 13.) Still, it's Hollywood. What do you expect?

Mugenkai in the Imperial Federation of Sekowo (inactive)
Community Communist Congress in the Republic of Ikradon (obsolete)

I'm just going to crawl into the corner, assume the fetal position and weep softly now.
