Obama and the Messiah

Postby PresMusharraf » Thu Jun 18, 2009 4:15 am

Since I've been on the more serious topics lately, I've decided to tone it down a bit with some Obama humor. I know that this is old (very old, in fact), and that I should have showed it during the campaign instead of now. However, for the sake of entertainment and civil debate (and discourse). Here is the Obama National Anthem*

*With all apologies to former Soviets, present-day Russians who have the best anthem in the world. With all apologies to fans of Rocky Balboa. With all apologies to those who think that there is even the slightest chance that Obama is Lord. And with all apologies to those who thought that the Republicans were the cleanest party in U.S. politics (man, have you been under a rock for the last two hundred years).

"Hope for the change,
of the hope for change!"

Haha, that's spot on.

How everyone doesn't loathe Obama after the way he has been deified I don't know.

This is the first time I have actually watched that. I must say, I had to chuckle at the many references of socialism. PresMusharraf, it's good to see that you have used some humor this time around.

Well, as a jaded member of the opposition I was half-heatedly hoping that at noon on the 20th of January rainbows would appear in the skies and lollipops grew from the ground, and the seas to part. I mean one can barely blame me, the cult-like following he carried sure made you think the chap was going to deliver something spectacular.

Oh, I am sure someone here is going to argue against your last statement: "the cult-like following he carried sure made you think the chap was going to deliver something spectacular." It's not going to be me though. I am tired.

Well, you have a talent for inciting arguments-perhaps I should take your word on it and edit it? ;)

All kidding aside, text carries no tone Mr. Yankees. Probably a good thing, honestly.

I agree. It's a good thing. Can you imagine the discussions here in the forum if tone/emotions could be more easily transmitted? I would honestly pay to see that.

With respect to my talent for inciting arguments, I only have one answer: So I have been told. :D
