The House of Delegates looks like a good start for me. I'm curious what other people think, and this includes non-Americans as well!

I virtually have no chance in making it to federal parliament in Canada because of the fact that im not the greatest French Speaker, if you have ever watched Canadian parliament it is nothing like American parliament members will talk in French for minutes on end especially the ones form Quebec. I would like to start off either municipally or Provincially, I would love to get elected into my Provinces Legislative Assembly (Ontario) and maybe one day even become Premier of Ontario that will always be a dream of mine.

I've always wanted to be a Congressman and I think I can do better than most of them can. I could probably be President as well, but that's a pipe dream...for now. I don't know if I could get elected where I'm act. The district is too Liberal, even for a Liberal/Moderate like me. Ohh well, my other option is come up through the legislature and eventually become the Governor of Maryland. I do that for 8 years and then parlay that into either a Senate seat or the White House. Don't laugh, you could one day be watching me take the Oath of Office.

Yes, I've seen the Canadian Parliament before.

Whenever Stephen Harper rises, he buttons his shirt. Before he sits down again, he unbuttons his shirt.

All MPs have translators in their ears (so I guess you don't have to speak French to be elected).

Harper and Mulcaney (?) both slip in and out of French, so it's a bit interesting. I don't know who has the worse accent, but does it matter?

Once upon a time I entertained the idea of being a politician.

Now I'm comfortably settled on the idea of being a behind-the-scenes actor in government, perhaps by being in the Foreign Service. Domestic politics irritate me too much these days anyways. And anyways, I tend to operate best behind-the-scenes, rather than as a public face. I do like to consider myself a pro of navigating bureaucracy. So ultimately, while I may not ever run for public office; I wouldn't consider it impossible for my future to involve appointed office (my favorite kind, I hate running in elections.... though I was elected as my university club's president with 100% of the vote).

I'd much rather serve in the U.S. Senate, perhaps after serving in the House or as Governor of Virginia, because I see myself more as a legislator than as a "President".

Who knows, Hogan was elected Governor! You never know what the states may turn up to be in 3, 4, or even 5 decades. 50 years ago in Virginia, there was the Byrd political machine that essentially locked Virginia as a Democratic state. After a short stint as a Republican bastion, it is now purple again. I have no clue as to the political lining of Virginia in the next 30, 40, or 50 years.

I believe many current members of the government are stupid, and most of these people come from "safe" districts, both Republican and Democrat.

My favorite is Hank Johnson (D), a black Buddhist from Georgia who is worried that Guam might tip over and capsize if there's too many people.

What an interesting administration that would be. I don't think your political handlers would take kindly to you appointing such a "communist" as Secretary of State. haha
